Unfortunately, our recent visit to Bar Napoli left a lot to be desired, especially on such a special occasion as my wife's birthday. The series of disappointments started right from the moment we walked in, leaving us feeling unwelcome and frustrated throughout the evening.
Upon arriving, the greeter's lack of warmth and politeness immediately set the tone for our experience. We had made a reservation well in advance, yet we were made to wait in the rain. It was disheartening to see that the greeter seemed more interested in accommodating walk-in guests than honoring our reservation.
To our utter disbelief, our reservation was given away to a couple who arrived after us. We couldn't understand how such a mistake could be made, especially considering we were waiting patiently despite the unpleasant weather. The feeling of being overlooked and undervalued was truly disheartening, especially because we had specifically chosen this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday.
As a result of the reservation mishap, we were seated in a separate, empty part of the restaurant, isolated from the lively atmosphere that typically accompanies a dining experience. It felt as if we were being punished for something that was clearly out of our control. It was disconcerting to celebrate my wife's special day in a secluded and lifeless area, void of the celebratory ambiance we had hoped for.
The cumulative effect of these disappointing incidents greatly impacted our overall enjoyment of the evening. We had anticipated a memorable dining experience at Bar Napoli , but unfortunately, we left feeling let down and frustrated. Birthdays are meant to be joyous and filled with happy memories, but this experience will unfortunately be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
In light of the circumstances, we sincerely hope that Bar Napoli takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving their front-of-house management. A warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with accurate reservation handling, are crucial aspects of any dining establishment, especially when customers are celebrating important occasions.
While we understand that mistakes can happen, it is essential for the management to address these issues promptly and make amends to regain the trust and satisfaction of their customers. We genuinely hope that future patrons have a better experience at Bar Napoli, but we regrettably cannot recommend it based on our own experience.
In conclusion, our visit to Bar Napoli on my wife's birthday was marred by unwelcoming staff, a mishandled reservation, and a disappointing seating arrangement. We had hoped for a memorable celebration but left feeling let down and...
Read moreNot terribly impressed with this place. Went around 10pm as it was one of the few places nearby our hotel where the kitchen was still open. Pretty much immediately got the impression that serving us seemed like a burden, there was a bigger bald guy who just seemed to loom wherever he went, saw him cussing out an employee in another language (likely Italian) soon after we arrived. Once seated we just ordered tap water as we were mostly just trying to get some food in us quickly as it was getting late and had been a long day, this order was taken pretty gruffly by the bald guy. Had water brought to us, but was never refilled the rest of our visit, we were seated near the rear of the restaurant so never had much of a chance to flag anyone down for more since there weren't many other parties near us and the staff didn't really check on us. Seats were right next to brick wall with not a ton of space for chair, so not the most comfortable, front of restaurant looked rather nicer. Ordered two pizzas, which was pretty much the last time we saw the staff other than the kitchen bringing them out, one of the pizzas was missing a major ingredient (basil on the regina margherita,) which we initially chalked up to being misheard for their regular margherita which comes without it, but it was billed as the regina on the final ticket, so was actually made wrong rather than just a mishearing. Debated speaking up, but mostly just wanted to quickly eat and not have to wait for it to be remade, also most of the staff wasn't speaking English and it seemed like speaking to them was an imposition so just left it as is. Pizza was good enough I guess but the center was a bit undercooked and wouldn't tear/cut cleanly (pizzas were delivered uncut.) Had to eventually flag down someone to get the check since we weren't getting checked on, saw on that we had been charged for the regina that we though they misheard as the regular margherita, but at the point we justed wanted out of there so went ahead and paid...
Read moreVisiting from out of town. It was late and this was near our hotel, plus a lot of reviews said it was good? But the atmosphere was weird. Some employees seemed very nice but they (had to?) stay in their area. They seemed very busy or focused (nervous?) even though it was late and not crowded at all. I personally can't handle carbonation, and everything but still water had it, but that was more expensive than soda. Which is fine, but when we asked for tap water, the reception seemed... Annoyed? Once we received our small glasses of water, we placed our orders. We each got a pizza, and mine was the regina margherita pizza. When we received it, however, it just seemed like a cheese pizza with some wads of mozzarella and some tomato slices. There wasn't even basil. I'm glad they gave us some knives because it was really not cut through and we tore them up to eat it. I am well aware I should have said something, but the atmosphere of the employees made me worried we'd get yelled at, especially after only getting tap water. And it was late. And we were hungry. And honestly no matter how hard you try, you really can't make a bad pizza, so it tasted fine even though it was not correct. At some point there was an employee on their break and it was awkward as they got scolded(?) right next to us. (It was in another language but it did not sound pleasant) The table next to us seemed to be having a good time, though? It felt really weird, and had a general uneasiness and by the end we just...
