Dr Senthil Kumar As a resident of Gloucester, for over two decades, i've developed a keen appreciation for culinary experiences. Being among the first to explore new dinning establishments, i recently ventured Dosa Park in Ciresncester with my family on April 17, 2024, and i'm excited to to share our delightful experience.
First & foremost, Dosa park captivates with its trendy yet casually inviting ambiance. The unique design elements, complemented by subtle music and warm lighting set the stage for an enjoyable dining experience from the moment we stepped in.
The hallmark of any dining establishment lies in its service, and i must commend the atyentive and knowledgeable staff at Dosa Park. They effortlessly accommodated our special request, ensuring our comfort throughtout the meal. The level of service provided was truly experience.
Now, onto the highlight of our visit- the Indian cuisine. As a connoisseur of authentic Indian flavour, i often find it challenging to come across resturants that deliver an unadulterated taste. However, Dosa Park surpassed expectations with its impeccably prepared dishes bursting with genuine Indian flavors. From the meticulously presented non-vegetarian options to the tantalizing vegetarian fare, every dish left an indelible impression on our plates. A combination of lamb curry and the star of the show, undoubtedly, was the Dosa, their signature dish, which earned unanimous praise from my family.
In terms of value for money, Dosa Park excels. The generous portion size ensure that each dish is not only satisfying but also represents excellent value. Furthermore, their creative menu concept encourages diners to step out of their comfort zones and explore new culinary delights with confidence.
Hygiene and cleanliness are paramount consideration for any discerning diner and Dosa Park's dedication to maintaining impeccablestandards was evident throughtout our visit. Noteworthy was the provision of a seperate ground floor toilet accessible to disabled patrons, a testament to their committment to inclusivity.
Adding a personal touch to our dining experience, the owner was actively engaged in serving customers and soliciting feedback- a gesture that underscored their passion for culinary excellence. As i reflect on oir visit, the memory of the delectable flavors lingers, a testament to the lasting impression made by Dosa Park.
Despite the resturant offering around 10 parking spaces, i was unable to secure one; however, i found a free parking lot within 200 yards, available after 8pm.
In conclusion, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dosa Park and I wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and fellows food enthusiasts seeking an authentic Indian dining experience. Here's to many more memorable visits to this newly opened gem in...
Read moreVisited Dosapark after a trip to the Cotswolds, craving some authentic South Indian food. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we had hoped for — the food was not authentic, portions were tiny, and everything seemed overpriced and reheated.
We started with the Street Food Trio Chaat, which consisted of 2 small pani puris and half a samosa — the portion was so minimal it was almost laughable. None of this was explained to us. When we asked the staff, they dismissed it as an “appetiser,” though it barely qualified as one even for a child. As someone who regularly reviews food, I’ve never come across such a disappointing portion size. Utterly ridiculous for £7!
Next, we ordered the Veg Thali, Chicken Biryani, and Masala Dosa. Both dishes were bland and lacked proper seasoning. The Thali included a roti/paratha that was clearly reheated from frozen — hard and unappetising. Similar themes are found in these reviews which should have been checked beforehand. The accompanying dishes were similarly flavourless.
Overall, it felt like this restaurant caters more to a general British palate rather than offering the authentic South Indian cuisine it claims to. An overhyped and overpriced experience.
To top it off, there was no service engagement throughout the meal — no one checked on us, and when we raised our concerns at the end, the staff made no effort to address the issues — nothing to try and rectify the issue.
We ended up dining at Bombay & Co in Cheltenham afterward — a short drive away — and it was a world apart. Authentic, flavourful South Indian dishes with generous portion sizes. An incredible team and customer service that catered to our group of 6. I would highly recommend going there instead if you’re looking for a genuine Indian...
Read moreOne star is generous – avoid at all costs. I’ve just had one of the worst takeaway experiences of my life from Dosapark in Cirencester, and I genuinely feel like I need to warn others. We ordered a chicken tikka masala and a prawn dansak – two classics that should be hard to get wrong. What we received was an absolute joke.
Let’s start with the rice – pilau rice packed with carrots and dark leaves? What even is that? It tasted weird and looked worse. The naan bread? Soggy, limp, and swimming in water at the bottom of the bag. Definitely microwaved. Disgusting.
Now the chicken tikka masala… I honestly don’t know what this was supposed to be. Full of green peppers, random chunks of onion, and chickpeas – none of which were on the menu description. A chicken tikka masala is meant to be a smooth, mildly spiced, creamy dish – not some kind of thrown-together leftover veg stew. And it was so spicy it blew my head off – like it was deliberately overloaded with supermarket-style spice mix just to mask how bad the base was. And the chicken? If you can call it that. I counted six tiny curled-up bits of what looked like fried scrapings. Absolutely vile.
The prawn dansak was even worse – basically a tub of flavoured water with three prawns floating in it, and the rest filled with more pointless veg – carrots, peppers, onions. What on earth is going on in this kitchen?
I felt sick halfway through and binned the rest. Waste of money, waste of time, and now I’ve got that awful aftertaste reminding me why I’ll never go near Dosapark again. Do yourself a favour – go literally anywhere else. This place is a disaster. I’d...
