Went one evening in August with my two daughter 's Stephanie and Lucy and my son in law Matthew. I have just moved to Cirencester and had arranged to meet my Eldest daughter Stephanie in the Park with her husband Matthew. When l arrived l had one of the biggest surprises. My youngest daughter Lucy was there to meet me too , l did not know and it made us cry ( she and her husband Andrew live in Salford, Lancashire ) it was such a lovely surprise. From there, we went for a walk starting from the park, behind St Johns Church in the Town, we must have walked for at least 2 hrs and finished off, a lovely day, at Pizza Express and then to the Crown Pub for a drink. It is quite a rustic pub and lots of young and old like it. I have visited on a number of occasions with my daughters and friends especially at Christmas time. Not the kind of pub if you want a nice quiet evening enjoying a drink, but if you don't mind hustle and bustle and lots of talking then this is your thing. ...

Lunch became the issue and we found ourselves outside the Crown pub and decided to try it out. The pub was quite full naturally at lunchtime and we were 4 adults and a baby but the staff managed to find us a cozy corner and provided a high chair for the the bairn. The libations were excellent and the food was superb. The Steak and Ale pie was the best I've ever sampled in my 73 years and from all accounts, the rest of our group were very happy with their choices. The staff were all switched on and friendly and strived to make ours a pleasant...
