This Indian food joint offers an extensive menu with plenty of variety, especially known for its Indian starters. However, while the selection is impressive, the overall quality and taste are fairly average. It’s a decent spot for takeaway, but not my top choice on this street, as there are other eateries nearby that offer better quality. I’ve tried several items from their menu, including the samosas (both meat and veg), chaapli kebabs, chicken pakora, fish pakora, and chicken seekh kebab. The samosas were okay, though the crust was quite oily, and while the veg filling had some flavor, the meat options were lacking. The chaapli kebabs stood out as the best item I had — well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the chicken pakora was disappointing, lacking flavor and not cooked well. The fish pakora and chicken seekh kebabs were decent but nothing remarkable. I also tried the lamb diner meal, which was a real letdown. The meat was chewy and undercooked, making for an unpleasant experience. Overall, it’s a place that’s good for takeaways and quick bites, but it could benefit from improvements in both quality and consistency.

I visited and ate Eastern Diner in the late 2000's with my brother, didn’t like it than and still not to keen on it now (January 2025). I for one find the food here below par. I visited this place again this time with my father & his wife on the Wednesday 15th January 2025 in the evening. I ordered the Double Cheese Burger as a meal, the burger was just average to ok. But the fries were overcooked, which I certainly did not like. At this point I just ate the burger. After I ate, I needed to go to the toilet. But to my disgust there was urine all over the toilet seat, I was on two minds to take a photo of this. But decided not to, because it would of been too explicit to be seen and the photo would of been deleted by Google maps anyway. So I had to hold it in and relive myself when I got home. In summary if you like tacky stuff and below average food, this place is for you! 🥳

I placed an order late at night while staying at the Novotel Hotel. The restaurant repeatedly told both me and Deliveroo that the rider was “two minutes away,” yet no delivery ever arrived. After nearly an hour of waiting in the hotel lobby, they falsely claimed the food had been left at reception. Hotel staff and CCTV confirm this never happened. When I tried to call the restaurant directly, the operator was extremely rude and dismissive. This isn’t just poor service — it borders on dishonesty. I was left without food after midnight before an important conference the next morning. Totally unacceptable, and I would strongly advise others to avoid ordering from this place.

I went to Eastern Diner last Saturday 6th Feb around 8pm. I was starving and I can appreciate takeaways are busy at weekends however I was very disappointed (offended) with the lack of service, its practically non existence! when I initially went in, I was waiting for 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged me to even say hello or that someone will be with me shortly ect I went up to the screen and asked one of the workers if I could place my order, I was told be to wait.... I waited and saw another worker avoid eye contact with me but then take two calls right in front of me and take their orders. Bizarre..why would you take orders on the phone when you have customer right in front of you? I felt at this point if my custom is not valued, I shall go elsewhere! I walked across the road to Rio's Peri Peri, I was acknowledged straightway my order was cooked and handed to me within 10 Mins, the lady at the till even went the extra mile to amend my order to include extra fires and no drink. I was very impressed :D and the food was delicious I do not appreciate being ignored! I have gone out of my way to write this review to express how I was made to feel. Foleshill Road is a long road full of takeaway shops what makes Eastern Dinner think they are too good to even acknowledge their customer and expect repeat custom. This take away has no USP, when you walk in the shop they have no management system in place to take orders, prepare and serve in a timely manner. I will not be...

Absolutely appalling service. This is the second time we have ordered from there (in the CV6 area. The first time we rang early, asked for our order to be delivered an hour later. They assured us this would absolutely be the case. 2.5 hours on from our original call the food arrived (1.5hr later than the time they fully assured us on the phone!) Delivery driver blames the shop, shop blames the driver. Today (31.05.21) we had unexpected guests and thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt. Rang them at 6.20pm. were told the food would be there in half an hour. (6.50pm.) 8pm and still no food. Been ringing the store non stop since 7.20pm no answer. Finally get through and he says food is on the way which is an absolute lie because as soon as we said cancel the order he said ok. So clearly it wasn't on the way. I have never received such appalling delivery service from anywhere and it's just reminded me why we will never order from there or ever recommend ordering from there. Totally unscrupulous and greedy management who take on orders while knowing they are unable to fulfil them. Sorry Eastern Diner, your food isn't worth that much of a wait. And I will never make the mistake of ordering...
