Hello Vietnam Restaurant Coventry — Restaurant in Coventry

Went with my mum at lunchtime. We are Vietnamese so are familiar with the food quality. I had the bunh cha nem and mum had the beef pho. There was a lunch special for a free drink with the beef pho but waitress didnt tell us about this so we missed out.

Portion size was ok but small compared to other places in the area for the price. Taste was ok. Nothing special really. But missing alot of the typical condiments you would usually get. No hoisin sauce, hot sauce, pickled veg. The pickled garlic on the table is bizarre. My mum was convinced the soul wasnt broth but just water and flavourings.

We also had the red bean dessert which was inedible. We barely touched it. I believe it was tinned red bean and the yogurt tasted off.

Service was non existant and slow. There was only 1 waitress working on about 6 tables. They dont play music or anything so its a weird atmosphere in there. Also it was super dark inside.

Theres a 10% compulsory service charge, which I dont think they deserved given the lack of service we received. They didnt have enough to change to give me.

My family and I travelled to see another hallway from another. I hadn't seen my sister for over 3 years due to her living abroad. So it was so lovely to meet up. We came here and it was perfect. The food was SO delicious. I'm so sad they're not local to us 😭. But so happy for anyone who lives or visits Coventry. You won't be disappointed. Really accommodating to vegans too. I had the tofu and mushroom pho and it was so tasty. My sister had a tofu and spring roll salad(I didn't pay attention to the name when she ordered, apologies), my Dad has the curry and he said it was delicious. We also had spring rolls and summer rolls. We couldn't fault the place. Vietnamese is my favourite food and absolutely rate this restaurant. The staff are lovely...
