On the 20th June, we were really looking forward to our breakfast with Sovrano. When we arrived, the aesthetics of the establishment was inviting and had a nice atmosphere. When ordering our traditional breakfasts, we asked for replacements due to customers dislikes of mushrooms and tomatoes, and requesting is they can be replaced my hash browns instead. This is a simple request that all cafes (even wetherspoons, bill's, local cafe's etc) cater to in order satisfy their customers' likes and dislikes. We were first refused after the waitress asked the chef who said that they don't replace. We were took back by this unprofessional decision and we explained our dislikes to the waitress and asked if they could please do this. Eventually, the chef agreed to make our changes, however we were told by the waitress (that was informed by the chef), and I quote, "We don't do this is busy hours". We find this to be a lazy excuse. The busiest restaurants in the world are able to cater to customer needs, regardless of the busy times. We would understand if were asking to replace mushrooms for a sausage, but to merely change a vegetable for a piece of fried potato is not much to ask of anyone, especially during busy hours which crate a happy environment and a higher chance of customer loyalty to the business.
Our meals were okay, but it was a real shame that this situation ruined our breakfast time and has put us off trying Sovrano in the future. The service was fine however there was no check back on the table to see if everything was okay. Plus, when ordering our cappuccino, no offer was made for chocolate or cinnamon (when its clearly stated on the menu).
It pains us to give this place 1 star when it has the potential to earn 5.
I hope Sovrano can read this and look into the areas that need...
Read moreMyself and my partner went here for brunch after hearing good reviews. However we left very disappointed. The staff there were nothing but useless. The waitress who came to take our order firstly didnt have great english so this didnt help with ordering food as she barely spoke a word and when she did it was so quiet and mumbled i had no idea what she even said. She left our table before even finishing our order. She just walked off mid order and started taking another tables order. When the food came out, i had the wrong order, we was then asked if we wanted sauce both asking for ketchup the waitress just walked off and started taking orders from other tables, we got no sauce. I dont know if this was a language barrier again or if she just forgot. Upon leaving, when we went to pay, the woman behind the counter was very rude. She then tried to charge me for the food i ordered, which was dearer than what i was actually given. When trying to explain and correct the cost, she was very moody with us and said,'Just dont pay for ur food then' in a sarcastic tone and knocked £5 off the order. It's a shame because the food was actually quite nice, but to receive very poor service from 3 separate members of staff is appalling, and for that reason, i wouldn't even consider returning. Staff need to be trained on customer service and skills, pay abit more attention to the customers...
Read moreI have been meeting with my friends every week at sovrano and I really used to like this place, until today, it all started with one of the staff members being rude to me and my colleagues always giving us dirty looks, we ordered two salads and both HAD A HAIR ON IT, we went inside to complain and we have been told to leave without paying for anything but never comeback again, so I get a salad with hair and I am not allowed to comeback again? Because of YOUR mistake we are being banned? I was talking with a staff member (who I must say that was REALLY RUDE and while talking to me was talking with his colleagues in Romanian) and I found that this is all because one of my friends used to work there, and himself is taking it personal, by his logic, she can’t go there because she worked there. We ended up paying for our order, because our intention was never get food for free, as they mentioned, but clearly knowing that we will not be welcome there, as it was clearly expressed. I wish I could be contacted by the manager as I wasn’t able to speak with and if something could be done about this, it’s a shame that such a lovely place with lovely food is represented by such staff and is loosing costumers because of them. It was so bad that I wish I could give it a 0, but I can’t so I am...
