after eating in the restaurant on a number of occasions we decided to order a takeaway on Saturday night. We were told that our order would be no longer than 1hr 30 mins. After waiting 1hr 40 mins and no sign of the food I rang to see if there was a problem. I was told they had tried to ring a number of times and the phone was engaged. I said that no calls had been made since placing the order, checked the number and then spoke to the delivery driver to give directions. 2 hrs 30 mins after placing our original order a neighbour turns up with our takeaway as it had been delivered to his house! (Bizarrely they were waiting for a takeaway too!) The food was stone cold. I rang to complain and was basically told it was my fault as the delivery driver had tried to call and there was nothing they could do! I asked them to return to collect the food and provide a refund as I wasn't happy that we had waited so long and the food was cold. They refused! I then said I would be bringing the food back into the restaurant myself and would collect my money. The manager rang back almost as soon as I put the phone down and offered 20% discount off my next order! Again I said that this didn't solve the problem, so finally they agreed to collect the food and refund the money! I am disgusted by the poor customer service from here. I hate being lied to! Don't tell me my food will be here and don't deliver it! Don't tell me you'll ring me and don't call! And don't deliver me cold food! I certainly won't be ordering a takeaway...
Read moreWe were staying in a cottage about 10 mins down the road and had been traveling most of the day. A quick Google got the nearest Indian restaurant highlighted this place so we thought we'd give it a go. It has to be one of the best Indian takeaways over had in a long time. Very generous portions meant I even had plenty for my breakfast on the morning. The sauces were extremely tasty, not full of melted ghee and more meat than you'd get in a double portion down south. The meats were great quality and plentiful to the point they struggled to get the lids on the containers. The naan breads were freshly made and cooked to order. Their chefs keema mince was one of the tastiest I've ever had. My wife's peshwari naan wasn't overly sweet but had plenty of almond flavour whilst retaining its moisture. The sag aloo, Bombay potato and onion bhaji didn't disappoint either. Whether you have a takeaway or a sit down meal, you won't be disappointed. Even during the so called "closed season" after a busy summer, the restaurant was busy and trade was good. Always a good sign of a good restaurant. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll be heading back at the first opportunity. Great food,...
Read moreI had a pleasure to dine out in this lovely place. It's a place where you can taste authentic Indian cuisine. The meal was delicious and supreme, fresh tasting and adjusted to tanginess preferences. The portions are generous, you won't leave hungry. The menu is varied, for sure you'll find something for your taste. Have a look at wine list - the wine recommended by the staff was ideal and one of the best I've ever had. All reasonably priced. The customer service was amazing, very friendly, helpful and professional staff- there was no problem to adjust hot intensity of the meal, swap some ingredients and get wine recommendations. On the top of that- the place itself. It's decorated in modern way but still cosy and you feel welcome. The decor is fabulous. Music just completes the whole atmosphere, connecting the sublime meal, delicious food smells, excellent taste, the restaurant decor all together.
My recommendation is 10 out of 5, it's one of the best places I have dined out (it's not only about the excellent food but the whole place itself) and for sure I'll be back when I'm in the area.
PS. The restaurant is moved to the...
