The Coffee ☕ Lounge in Mablethorpe is ideally located a few minutes gentle stroll off the Sea 🌊 Front. The outside looks well kept and inviting 👌 for you to enter. Once inside you can find a table with individual comfy armchairs. All good so far, but that's where the good bit of this review starts to unwind and end. Today we went in after walking 🚶♂️ along the Sea 🌊 Front and being cold, we fancied cake and lovely hot chocolate. The young lad behind the counter was helpful in showing us the 3sizes of mug for our hot chocolate but was clueless with the cake selection. 🎂 we asked 'what cake is that one please' he said oh there should be a tag on it! He hadn't got a clue, so called over a young lady who worked there, who also hadn't got a clue. KNOW Your Product is the 1st rule in staff training. Failed miserably Coffee Lounge! The hot chocolate was far too milky, tasting more like hot milk. More Chocolate 🍫 in the hot chocolate please. Quality is the 2nd rule! Could do better Coffee Lounge! When the cake arrived, no napkins or serviettes, so we had to ask for something which should be an automated service to a customer eating food. Staff training again Coffee Lounge! Poor performance leaving 2 untrained unmotivated teenagers to run your Coffee ☕ Shop. After a life in staff training I know when something isn't working correctly and as...
Read moreWe came here for a quick coffee, instead of going to Greggs and was pleasantly surprised. They have a wide range of hot and cold coffee's, teas and even alcoholic drinks.
They also serve food in an area on it's own, so you don't feel like you're eating in and around people drinking, even though you can eat and drink where you want.
Outside, plenty of seating but this has no bearing on what the inside is like, it's a big place with lovely comfy seating, and is decorated really nice and looks like what a coffeeshop should.
The staff were pleasant and prompt to clean the table for us when we sat down.
The drinks were tasty, and I think my iced skinny vanilla cappuccino came to £2.80, which is pretty much Greggs prices.
If you want a coffee, in a relaxed coffeeshop and want to support local businesses, don't give it to Greggs, give it to the Coffee Lounge.
One criticism. We paid for our drinks, and then sat down... I imagine you can also sit down and pay after you've drank. As that wasn't the case for us, when we were paying and the payment screen asked if we wanted to tip. I would remove that and have a tip jar, no one is going to tip before they've...
Read moreWent here for breakfast waited at one of the two tills to be served noticed that the lady on the till seemed to only be serving on one till, people who came after us was getting served before us on the other till, so thought maybe we was waiting in the wrong quee. A lady came out of the kitchen think she actually worked in the kitchen so i politely asked if we was waiting in the right quee to be rudely told yes you are but we are in the middle of a pandemic short staffed and you are just going to have wait your turn!!! The lady serving on the till actually looked at us several times and still continued to serve customers that joined the other quee after us. I completely understand the current situation and wasn't complaining at all I was simply asking question and if she had said oh I'm sorry this till is not in operation I would of joined the other quee, But if this was the case maybe put a sign on the second till saying please use other till, there was no need for her to speak to me the way she did. I wouldn't return here if...
