Seeing as it was a beautiful day yesterday (Monday 7th April, 2025), we decided to visit Mablethorpe and take the dogs with us, so they could enjoy the beach. We arrived a little after 10:30 in the morning and, after an initial walk on the beach and a look around, wanted to find somewhere to stop off, for a bit of something to eat (nothing too heavy, but just to hit the spot!) We looked around and asked for a good place and the Busy Bee Cafe came up, so we decided to give it a whirl. As I've mentioned before, it's always a bit of a gamble trying somewhere we've not been before, because it could either be really great or absolutely terrible. Well, this cafe did not disappoint! Although it can be hard to notice, being tucked away down one of the streets off the main strip, it's a lovely quiet place to enjoy a cup of tea and something to quell one's appetite. There was plenty of seating available outside, with some places available inside too. However, with having the dogs and it being sunny out, we opted for sitting on one of the tables outside (water provided for dogs). It is table service, so we had a really friendly lady come out and take our orders. I love that they had some gluten-free options, for those who are gluten and wheat intolerant. We didn't have to wait long at all, for the food to arrive and we were very impressed! Another lady who came out to serve our food, was also very pleasant and friendly. The food was lovely and hot, the bacon and sausage bap was well worth the price (lovely, soft bap with nicely-cooked bacon and sausages!) Sauces were available on the table, along with salt and pepper (and sugars too for tea, coffee etc!) I believe altogether, the total came to around £17 or so for three hot drinks and three breakfast cobs... Bargain I'd say! Not only that, but there's the option to pay with either cash or card.
Without a doubt, we will be returning to the Busy Bee Cafe again, when we are next in Mablethorpe. If you're in the area and looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, don't forget about this place! Many thanks to the staff for the great service and the...
Read moreVisited this establishment a couple of times and can confirm the food is good and well cooked the coffee however leaves a lot to be desired as does the seating arrangement and the staff. The general layout is very cramped and anybody with small children, pensioners and those with disabilities could find it extremely awkward to navigate around the tables and chairs especially at busy times. The staff however I do feel need to have a bit more consideration towards newer customers and not to just focus solely on their regulars. Whilst I am aware that regulars bring constant custom, newer customers such as myself could be put off from returning when they're ignored in favour of serving a regular that has come in after them as happened to my husband and I leading to our leaving without being served. It wasn't a particularly busy time either but several empty tables were not cleared from previous customers and were filthy. Won't...
Read moreGood food, and very good value, with vegetarian and gluten-free breakfast options available.
Friendly staff, all working well together as a team, and nothing seemed to be to much trouble for them.
Currently all table service, with perspex screens breaking up the space. The place was spotlessly clean, and they were very thorough cleaning the tables (and even the chairs!) between customers. We were very impressed, and certainly had no concerns.
There's probably only seating for around twenty people inside, and people were queuing waiting for a table to become available most of the time we were there, but they do also have sheltered outdoor seating.
Seemed to be quite a few local regulars in there as well, which I always think is a good sign.
Highly recommend; and it'll be our first choice for breakfast, and we must try lunch here, when we're in...
