went to the elms for a family lunch fri 31st may , i would like to share our comments regarding this very friendly pub . the food was great , two of us had gammon chips etc the rest had fish & chips . the gammon was cooked to perfection , fish & chips were really tasty , the chips tasted so good its been a long time since i have tasted decent chips ... the staff were very attentive & caring . nothing was to much trouble , a good choice of drinks , i have to say one has to go a long way to get decent home cooked food nowadays , the food prices were also very reasonable , we will recommend the elms to our friends ....so thank you for having us , all the best, yours sincerely from PAMELA BARBER ...
Read moreThe landlady is so rude and makes the atmosphere so uncomfortable. I was treated appallingly by the landlady, because I parked in a parking space that she wanted to park in. The parking isn't private parking it's street parking. She practically ordered me to move my car, and threatened me that she wouldn't serve me again unless I moved my car. If she would of spoke to me properly I would of moved the car without hesitation. I decided to leave after being treated so poorly and I won't go back to that pub until that horrible...
Read moreThis is a really cosy pub which we stopped off at on a hot summer evening. Not too crowded but enough people to create the atmosphere. Barmaid welcoming and happy to suggest a thirst quenching soft drink for myself. Husband enjoyed the Pedigree. Lots of happy well behaved dogs outside and when asked for a drink a large bowl of water was brought without delay for them. Loved the 'olde worlde' decor which looked authentic.
