Dropped in last minute before hopping my train, as a couple of the bigger local cafés nearby had already finished up doing savery snacks.
Got a veggie sandwich, and tea which the staff were adiment was no trouble to put in my grubby old flask (which also needed a rinse).
I’ve been raving about the sandwich to anyone who’ll listen since, and the flask of (really decent) tea was a life saver.
Haven’t seen a train station cafe this good since I watched ‘Brief Encounter’. Comfy, homemade and friendly. I certainly didn’t anticipate writing a google review about it but will definirly drop back when next in Eastbourne.
PS: It probably is quicker to sod off to Subway, but if that’s all you care about you should probably re-examine your choice...
Read moreI went to Eastbourne for a day trip with some friends a couple of weeks ago and when arrived at the station we had breakfast at Bella’s Café. We had coffee, tea, strawberry milkshake and croissants. Food and service were both impeccable. The two young guys serving us behind the counter were polite and welcoming. Shoutout to Bella’s!
Also, I happened to forget my IPhone charger at their place, I called the day after and Bella - the manager - kindly offered to send it back to me in London at her expenses. Thank you so much Bella, I won’t forget your kindness and manners. Hope to see you again when I will come back...
