Ala's Cafe — Restaurant in England

After trekking around Brighton for what felt like hours trying to find somewhere that served jacket potatoes, we arrived at Ala’s to overhear the (utterly charming) owner telling a client they had just taken a freshly-baked batch out of the oven. When I ordered mine, and told him we’d been looking everywhere, he informed me with passion that they never microwave their jackets because the standard isn’t acceptable! Music to my ears!

When it arrived, after only a short wait, both my jacket with prawns and my husband’s sausages and mash were some of the best food we’ve ever eaten, without question prepared and cooked with real care and love. My partner and I visited today (its a saturday) the cafe is small with some outside and inside seating (we sat inside) there was one guy working (taking orders and clearing tables) and we couldn't see the kitchen but obviously different people cooking. This guy was worked to the bone like literally the place was heaving he didn't have time to catch a breath . That being said he was professional and polite. After a little wait our order was taken and we waited a while for the food to come out (but like i said it was busy) we loved the food the chips were a bit over done (we quite like um like that) but everything else was lovely. For the price id have preferred better bread/toast ya know like chunky cut bread not normal at home bread. We would come...

Alas Cafe is an absolute delight! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere, thanks to the lovely staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The cafe offers a wide range of food options, perfect for any time of day, and their sweet treats are truly fantastic – ideal for anyone with a sweet tooth!

One of the highlights is the fresh orange juice, made right on the spot, and it’s incredibly refreshing. Their coffee is also top-notch – rich, smooth, and made to perfection. The cafe is always clean and well-kept, making it a comfortable spot to relax or catch up with friends.
