Hello everyone,
Sorry for the extensive downgrade, but I've been through a disheartening experince at Molly Malones. I will begin by saying that the venue is a really good medium for people to have a good, enjoyable time and the artists are all very accomplished.
I will dive into the incident now. We were having a great time at the venue for a while and, then they decided to kick one of our friends out. The reason they proposed was that he was too drunk. As a group we all agreed that he was drunk and he agreed to leave the venue; to clarify there hasn't been any commotion, disrespect or harrasment of any kind, towards anyone (if need be the venue can share the recordings). Our friend was escorted by a security personel outside at -2 degrees, and kudos to the security guard, he allowed us to take out his coat which we did. When I stepped 1 foot out of the doorway they didn't let me back in for the drinks I bought (which amounted to 20~Ā£.) At this point , I felt like it was too much of an injustice.
They charged us for our drinks and didn't even allow us to take a plastic cup. You should at least be reasonable with your customers and provide proper compensation for the method you choose.
To conclude, I hope you treat your customer's in a resonable demeanoner, the reason people choose you is because you stay open late at night (hope this changes and people won't prefer you in the days to come or of Molly Malone's goes through a strict policy change). I am for certain that there are people who have never had any trouble with the venue but he reason for this review is to emphasize that you can also found yourself in this unjust situation. Thank you if you have gone through this review and that you'll be a part of a big, loving and fair Brighton community to better the way of things. Thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an appalling experience at Molly Malones, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others about the unacceptable treatment I received from the venue's staff. What started as a promising night out with friends ended in a shocking display of unfairness and disrespect.
We were having a great time until the staff decided to kick me out, claiming I was too drunk. While I was admittedly drunk, I did not cause any commotion, disrespect, or harassment of any kind. I peacefully agreed to leave and complied fully. Despite this, I was escorted outside into the freezing cold at -2 degrees without being allowed to take my coat. My friends had to bring my coat out to me, which is inexcusable.
To make matters worse, my friend who brought my coat, was not allowed back inside to retrieve the drinks they had already paid for, totaling approximately £20. We weren't even given the option to take the drinks in plastic cups or to get a refund. This blatant disregard for basic customer service and decency is unacceptable.
Charging us for drinks we couldn't consume due to their draconian policies is outrageous. This kind of treatment shows a complete lack of respect for customers and a total failure to provide any reasonable accommodation or compensation.
Molly Malones needs to drastically rethink their approach to handling such situations. The only reason people choose your venue is because it stays open late, but this incident has revealed a severe lack of fairness and basic human decency. I hope this review prompts a significant change in your policies, as no one should have to endure such unjust treatment. I urge everyone reading this to consider other options and avoid Molly Malones until they address these serious issues.
Thank you for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was not going to post a review but a lady on here has left a review and had a similar experience to me. Had the exact same experience as others have mentioned in previous reviews. Bare in mind I queued 35 mins to enter. Me and my mate got kicked out last night (Halloween night) just for going into a toilet cubicle together. There were no signs anywhere saying this wasnāt allowed, and the staff were incredibly rude about it. The way they handled the situation completely ruined the night. I asked where the signs were and the rude lady said all around the bar- my other friends were still inside and asked a member of staff where the signs were about toilet rules and she said there is none!!?! This place needs to get their rules straight! Also taking you out a dark dodgy fire exit is extremely dangerous and made us as women feel unsafe. It is a known thing that on nights out women share toilets- if you are going to enforce this rule then add some hooks in the cubicle as where am i supposed to put my handbag, phone and jacket??? Makes no sense!
Itās honestly ridiculous to treat paying customers like this, especially when there was no warning or explanation. The place itself could be great, but the attitude and behaviour of the staff were appalling. Definitely wouldnāt recommend until management sorts this out and trains their staff to treat people with...
