Hmmm not a family friendly place. Food takes an age to arrive and this a quiet period, mine was toast with poached eggs, 25+min wait. Coffee, meh. More WAG/Startup Wannabe’s just milking the seating and possible WiFi on offer whilst hogging seats and slowly sipping away their beverages than accommodating normal folk with good wholesome food. Observe the Chef’s and tell me you’re comfortable with their hygene practices, or lack of, no hair net nor face mask, observed them rubbing their faces then handling food 🤮. The person I believe to be the owner/manager kept looking over, never once asking if we’re waiting for something or checking if customers are ok, more content with polishing the coffee machine or chatting about Instagram waffle. Thanks for the coffee and the food that eventually arrived, nice to know I got what I eventually paid for. The only chap that did look run off his feet was the only friendly and attentative person in-between running around, again whilst the coffee machine was getting a rub down! I do not doubt this is popular for the right clientel but we’re not it so if this is for you then enjoy! Say it as it is ;) …you can tell if a place is run well, just look at the gaping hole where the owner should be responding to folks reviewing this place,...
Read moreVery poor experience, would give negative stars if it were possible. First arrived at the Corner club at 10.35am to find that the kitchen was not open until 10.45, which was fine as we could have a coffee while we waited. The staff then changed the kitchen opening time to 11. Also fine as could have a second drink while waiting. My husband, who by this stage was getting hangry, made sure to get into the queue and ordered our food at 11.
The people sitting behind us ordered after the hangry husband. They not only got their food before us, but also finished eating without there being any sign of our food.
Then a member from the kitchen came out to tell us they had run out of chutney (I had ordered the eggs your way - scrambled with a side of chutney). Not the biggest issue so I asked to have mustard instead.
About 10 minutes later our food finally arrived, at 11.28. Mine without the asked for mustard. The husband ordered poached eggs with bacon. The eggs were so overcooked they might as well have been hard boiled eggs, the bacon was so overcooked it resembled cardboard and both of our toasts were close to burned.
We were both so hungry that we ate it all anyway. But would seriously think about ever eating at the...
Read moreFriendly polite service, some amazing coffee, always a great atmosphere, and some seriously tasty pancakes with bacon and maple syrup👌🏼
I also really enjoy their diverse evening menu with influences from all over the world inspiring their food. Also worth noting they make some delicious cocktails.
I’m a big fan of their morning pastries, with a wide selection of cakes and croissants. They used to do the most delicious French Toast stacked with bacon and covered in syrup, so I’m hoping they bring this back as it was a favourite of mine.
In the evening at the weekend they often have entertainment with live music or a DJ keeping the party going through out the evening. We recently went to their Quiz Night on Wednesday which was a good laugh too.
The only constructive feedback for Corner Club would be on the weekends service can be quite slow, but with a delicious coffee in hand I don’t mind the wait.
In the summer it’s quite nice to sit outside in their large outdoor area, where you can also see the chefs working their magic in their outdoor kitchen.
Corner Club definitely ticks all the right boxes whether you after coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or...
