Food was nice enough but it went dramatically downhill after it was served. Ordered 2 full teas for our table of 4 persons plus 1 child. Approximately 2 minutes after it was served a waitress come over to inform us they gave us the wrong sandwichs (fair enough honest mistake) she then proceeded to grab them off our plates with her bare hands carelessly pushing aside the other items on our plate. You would think they would have just left them then brought the right sandwiches! Also lots of flowers outside may be nice and decorative but attractive vast amounts of wasps. Every time the door opened 3/4 wasps would fly in and buzz around your food, lots of people always getting up including me to try and get away from the wasps every couple of minutes. Staff have a small wasp countermeasure in the form of an electric fly squatter which was waved about on a number of occasions during our hour in there. 1 wasp lands on my scone, I tell the young waitress not to kill it on my plate.... She proceeds to squash the wasp into the cream with this electric squatter, I tell her I told her not to do that and I don't want to eat it anymore! She says nothing turns and walks off, expecting her to replace it...... Not a chance. Very bad customer service in my opinion so left no tip. Also obviously if you hate wasps avoid this place in the summer months if you don't want to be constantly chased out of your seat by the pest problem. I personally nor the other 3 adults in our party agree we would not...

"ANGELS"..

Busy during the holiday season of summer sun to be enjoyed with your " CREAM TEA", with lovely views of Lyme Bay exceeding fifty miles on a clear day of ambient light conditions..

At the time of posting this review, two 'supa dupa' multi storey cruise ships are parked in the bay, one being the Queen Mary 2 which you would normally not see in this area..

Queen Mary 2 has 13 decks, normal base being Southampton in the U.K..

Both cruise ships twinkle with lights after dusk, so make sure you take those once in a lifetime photographs, using a 50x zoom lens digital camera..

The delicious 'selective scrumptious seductive succulent' menu items enhance the holiday experience + sea air appetite of hundreds of happy customers..

The Menu Photographs look edible in themselves, just take a look at the popular breakfast..

"ANGELS"..Noted for 'star' rated food on "PRINCES STREET" with a bustle of cheer in an enclosed walled seating area..

Home cooked food to refuel your ambitious strolls to "BABBACOMBE" + "ODDICOMBE" 300ft below the cliff top promenade + tree cliffs where Song Birds Sing, Kestrels Hover, Buzzards Glide, Herring Gulls patrol, where visitors use the 'green' for picnics, with a summer time table of Open Top Buses that stop at "The Theatre + the minimum of traffic interference..

Relax + enjoy the delightful colourful menu at "ANGELS" of "BABBACOMBE...

This place is AMAZING! We visited the day before our holiday ended and we wish we had visited sooner! All of the previous reviews are spot on! This was the best cream tea we’ve had anywhere (and we’ve had a lot) we arrived late afternoon with no booking the place was very busy a lovely lady greeted us and cleared an outside table for us! The same lady came back to take our order she was so helpful, sweet and kind and could not do enough for us! I had the half cream tea it was delicious my daughter had cucumber sandwiches and a white chocolate scone which she loved. My husband had a round of sandwiches, scone, cake and the most amazing cinnamon toast you could ever taste! He got offered to have his sandwich toasted which he took and loved it, he got a choice of cake which was huge and we all got a choice of scone they have so many flavours I was a little overwhelmed! I cannot praise this little place highly enough everything about it is amazing, the lovely helpful staff, the wide choice of cream tea to suit you, choice of cake and a huge choice of flavoured scones all home made and a wider menu! The food is also fantastic value when compared to other places. It was also dog friendly we sat outside with our little dog. The views are also amazing 🤩 we would definitely...

We love going here. Been visiting for a good 10 years. We go to Devon every year, and this place just does the best sandwiches. Although it seems every year there are less cherubs hung on the walls (probably cleaning them takes forever), there’s always something to look at. The place is always clean and although busy, we always manage to get a table. We do usually book in advance. Parking nearby can be hit and miss. It’s a very popular area, and the car park is small and the roads are tight. The outside seating has had some work done this year, it’s a great addition. After your tea, there are lovely views and great walks. The walk to the Cary Arms from the Cliff railway is fantastic. You can also get there from a little arch way behind the toilets. We once (Covid era) got a takeaway, we walked down to near the Cary and enjoyed the views and sandwiches. We were the envy of many passer-by’s.

Lovely absolutely lovely the scones cream jam and tea were wonderful. We sat inside as it had only just reopened following Covid 19 in July 2020. I had a honey ham and cheese sandwich and scone and tea. They were lovely the wonderfull girl serving was Lauren who has worked there for 5 years. She has great customer service skills wonderful eyes and smile to match. I would recommend Angel's to anyone the fruit scone was awesome and I will return for sure. My only advice is the price of a sandwich (only reason not a 5*) was steep like the walk up from the beach. Also, I returned again later in July and September again the scones service and tea were excellent. When I returned again in June 2021 I really felt that I had just been mugged at £2.25 for a Diet Pepsi which was actually a CAN of pop. The quality of the food like the service really is excellent. Well worth a visit though.

Lovely tearoom gone off the boil I visited Angles for the second time in March and was sadly disappointed by the experience. Last summer I had a glorious cream tea in the sunshine and was looking to repeat this experience. However the service was lacklustre and when I asked for another tea strainer, as the one provided wasn't clean, I received a curt response. On both visits the service has been somewhat chaotic. The first time this was charming, the second visit bordering on rude. It is a lovely location in Babbacombe, and if you take the right table you get a great view of the sea. The cream tea is definitely the best option, with freshly baked scones, the full afternoon tea is really an overpriced option. Perhaps I picked a bad day, perhaps its best visited in the summer, certainly the service seems off the boil in winter.
