I have been on the receiving end many times of poor service and almost all times I just right it off but the service I received today was of such a disgraceful standard that I needed to take a few hours to write factually rather than emotionally. My girlfriend and I went to this cafe this afternoon and ordered fish and chips. Being the patient person I am, I waited forty minutes, noticed customers that were there before us had all left, customers coming after us receiving there food and eventually decided to go question the whereabouts of our lunch. The waitress apologised and said she would look in to it. Two waiting customers in the meantime had been served while we continued to wait. Eventually the manageress came out and by then my patience for waiting for what tasted like frozen fish had reached itโs ceiling. The manageress said they were very busy, a few empty tables, and that is the best you could do is to insult our intelligence, by saying it takes forty minutes to make frozen fish and chips. After a subtle bribe of a free drink that I ignored, we were then told not to come back. My girlfriend and I were both calm during the entire conversation and your manageress/owner, said we were rude and not to come back. Lol, no argument there my dear, will definitely not be coming back, decision made about half an hour before you brought our meal. I think it is disgraceful of you Miss manageress to tell your customers who were on the receiving end of your poor service not to return. You ought to have a career change or get a serious wake up to what good service not even excellent, just good actually is. To the owner, in a business where you have lots of competition, you should have a relook at the staff you employ or consider training them to a higher standard, if you wish to keep new customers, judging by quite a lot of previous customers reviews. Shame at least the coffee and...

Photo taken looking back from the sand at low tide towards the cafe. We first came here in March in the pouring rain and stuffed our faces. My daughter and I (and dog!) came back on Wednesday and today (Friday) - for lunch on Weds as we'd just arrived on the Island, and for breakfast today before a busy day house-hunting, signing new job contract and heading home ๐ crazy to think that the next time we come here, we'll be Island residents!!

ย ย ย Read moreOver an hour wait for ham baguette and chips! At 14:00... Shocking! As I waited I also saw incorrect orders go out, takeaway orders bring served on plate and eat in orders served in containers. Why was a kitchen person bringing out the food when he could've been in the kitchen making my food! Orders should be done in order sure, but felt like an order wouldn't have been started till last order finished! It's not a good sign when there's a sign up to advise of long waits on food....You're a beach cafe and it's the summer holidays get some more staff or someone to run the kitchen a little more effectively. I would also suggest having some savoury goodies front of house for quick food, premade sandwiches, sausages rolls etc for those children who just can't wait the hour! On the plus the front of house staff were very kind and the food was good. Portion size was good too. Luckily it was just me eating, next time I'll bring a picnic to ensure I eat before...
