Awful manageement! So there is my story!I used to go Wetherspoons very often until last night and never got asked for ID.Basically I bought 2 drinks of Malibu and juice, all ok.When I went to buy a second round the very sarcastic manager asked me my id I have explained I will go and get it soon. She said I look under age although I am 28.I also told her if she asked me my ID her colleagues should ve done the same when I bought 2 alcholic drinks earlier. Her as a manager should be capable of leading a team by example.Well, she did not like that so she said I had to be out.Like I was a dog.In her oppinion I was rude and verbally aggressive for saying that.Well there were lots of people arround me that could say I was not. When eventually went out including her own staff called her all the b words as apparently she doesnt like to be disagreed with.So did other customers. She was rasist and rude.As other of my colleagues tried to explain who I am l,how old am I and also any other of my colleagues when they tried to offer ID said she doesnt need it.So was all against me.I paid 20 pounds of food and drinks which had to remain there. No refund nothing with me.I dont think anyone would be pleased with a situation like that. She should me made out.Never seen anyone more rude and sarcastic than her,she cannot lead a team when everyone she is meant to lead HATES her!!And I am going to put in a complaint to head office and so are...
Read moreMy husband and two friends visited The Carnival Inn twice over two weeks enjoying a lovely meal and very reasonable drinks and then moving on to two firework events. The evenings spent in Wetherspoons was very enjoyable. Very reasonable food both very tasty and the drinks were amazingly good value. The staff worked very well and hard as a Team, both friendly and very quick with excellent communication. I think that the Carnival Inn is an asset to Bridgwater as a lovely place for friends to hang out. The Bridgwater Carnival is an amazing event and visiting the Carnival Inn during this event makes for a fantastic evening. I think that the building is listed but really hope that the company invest in refurbishment in the near future as I have visited other Wetherspoons where the decor is very good and feel this would be the icing on the cake...
Read moreDon't visit this spoons as much as 3 other ones in our area but the noticeable difference is that they do mostly have enough staff to run reasonably efficiently? The other 3 always seem short staffed behind the bar, in the kitchen and waiting - probably why food is only just warm when it arrives and they have not "had time" to put any guest ales on - partly the reason I bother to go there! Anyway, back to Carnival Inn, beer good, food only warm (again), chips very poor - I was going to ask for some fresh ones when someone did the satisfaction check but they never did even though this is company policy. Shame really, spoons still seem to be struggling since lock down - constant stock shortages - lack of staff, some seem apathetic and don't care whether your glass is dirty or your food looks...
