My partner and I ate here last night and it was just perfect! We had a couple of servers that were both so attentive and friendly from the start, providing great service despite being very busy. They looked genuinely happy all evening which was nice to see, as we all know hospitality can be stressful! But the atmosphere was just so welcoming. The food was all incredible.. we road tripped around Italy and can honestly say it was authentic and felt like a home-cooked meal, plus such good value for money. The moules in cream sauce to start were the best in Brixham in our opinion (we've had moules at every restaurant as just love them!) and all the food we were told was made fresh to order - you could definitely tell, especially the fresh ciabatta. The gorgonzola pasta & spicy pizza mains were full of flavour and even the standard house white wine we had to pair was delicious. We tried a new desert the chef was trialling that day (soaked pear amaretto tart) and she even came to the table to get our thoughts on it, which was a really nice touch. Please keep this as a staple on your menus as it was 10/10! Overall I honestly couldn't fault it if I tried, but one thing to note is that it was cash only. Not an issue though as a cashpoint 10 steps from...

We were a walk-in group of 7 after being let down by the New Quay Inn, which turned us away simply because we had children with us. Thankfully, we found Casta Nostra, and it turned out to be the best possible outcome.
Sav, the owner, welcomed us without hesitation. The tables were quickly arranged, and everything—from menu limitations to the minimum spend—was explained clearly and fairly. With just 28 covers, it makes perfect sense for a small, independent restaurant to ensure each guest orders their own dish. It’s respectful to their space and business.
The food was absolutely delicious, and everything came out together and on time—an impressive feat considering Clare (Sav’s mum and the co-owner) is the only chef in the kitchen!
What really stood out was the hospitality. We chatted with both Sav and Clare during our visit, and they genuinely made us feel at home. You can tell this is a business run with love, care, and pride. The name Casta Nostra (“Our Home”) couldn’t be more fitting.
We highly recommend this fantastic little spot to anyone visiting Brixham.

Read moreHomely local family run restaurant. Fairly low prices and good food, not the best quality though. Homely feel and excellent atmosphere really makes you feel good! I recommend booking in advance as the restaurant was busy in the evening.
They gave out a few freebies here; breadsticks, olives and after-dinner limoncello were definitely welcome!
Cream of mushroom pasta was quite bland, I had to add a lot of salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese to make it more flavoursome. Portion size was just right however.
Pizza had too much cheese on it which was a real shame. They put the toppings under the cheese which was strange, and there wasn't enough tomato sauce.
There are a few marked vegetarian options on the menu, however none of the pizzas had a "V" next to them which led me to believe that the pizzas are not veggie-friendly for some reason? I didn't see any (marked) vegan options, most dishes contain milk.
Good drinks choice and very friendly waitresses. The prices are affordable and the atmosphere was hard to beat, I really hope the food...
