Was only popping in for a quick drink as we had been driving around for ages and we also needed change for the car park. Had the dog with us and was told it was fine as it was dog friendly but was soon told we couldn't come in because we had a 3 year old in a pram. There was one person at the bar and the pub was completely empty. My 3 year old daughter is the quietest most well behaved little girl and I had to deal with her crying hysterically absolutely heartbroken because the nasty woman in the pub told us no kids allowed. It's the sodding 21st century love! My poor baby girl was so sad because she said she wasn't allowed in so thought she didn't like her it was hurrendous. If your going to have a rule that no kids are allowed put a massive sign up outside to warn people...

A board outside read "Bingo, Wednesday at 3.00pm", as it was 2.40pm I knew my other half would want to stay for this... Met an acquaintance who assured us the session was fun. Doom Bar on pump and cider aplenty with a rapidly increasing local crowd. All friendly folk up for a chat, a drink and as expected serious Bingo players. All over by 4pm and finishing up our drinks we left as the rain stopped. Quirky local pub full of characters and a fun stop. Return visit in Oct was good with unexpected pint of Wainwrights, which was kept beautifully. Bit of banter with the barmaid about the bingo. Great old...

The barman was nice & friendly but when asked if they accepted Scottish money I was told they didn't the barman said he did not know why he couldn't accept my money but he was told not to.Do people in England not know that any form of currency which has the word sterling written on it is legal tender therefore businesses like shops & bars do not have the right to refuse to accept it.
