The Vigilance - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in England

We have stayed in Brixham for a little weeks holiday for the last 3 years. However this is the first time we have went to the Vigilance for anything. Theb was busy people ordering drinks and food so I will not complain about that it was our choice to wait. When it was my turn to order I ordered Two starters and two mains for myself and my wife the member of staff repeated the order back to me one Lemonade one large White wine two starters and the said and two main saying what the order was paid all was well. Then the order arrived and guess what it was all correct just it was all correct and served to us in one go four plates on a small table for two then i said to the server "I guess we are not allowed a break between courses" he just walked off to add insult to it the Chicken was so dry and overcooked the knive could not even get through the bottom of it very poor very very poor ate what I could just left thought they can't serve a starter before the main course and don't see a problem serving botha the same time why are they going to care about the quality of the food AVOID AT ALL COST many lovely restaurants and pubs in...

Absolutely disgusting service. My dad was told to leave. a nice known kind gentleman for picking up a few glasses for them. You animals.

My dad went in yesterday morning after a year of being banned for nothing serious. He asked if he was still banned and the male manager said that he was allowed back in so he got a drink and sat down. But dad asked about breakfast menu but then when a female staff member saw him she mouthed off and said that he was banned. But dad told her that he wasn't banned anymore as he asked the male manager. But she still mouthed off and told him that's he's banned and he didn't have time to enjoy his drink. male manager came over to him and told him to drink up and go again as he was banned again after he was he was allowed back in. dad didn't say anything just sat down at a table. This is how they treat people that live in the area. Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone as wouldnt want them to be treated and feel not they are welcome. I have always loved weather spoons great prices good service but what I recently witness in the Brixham Bolton street branch completely left me gob smacked, A lovely young guy served us who was amazing so tentative to our family's requirements the perfect host, but my wife first noticed what seemed like the manager giving him a hard time we watched throughout our dinner this lad non stop working his socks off and seemed he didn't get any recognition from his outstanding hard work I do hope that this wasn't racism taking place Infront of us but I must say I didn't like what I saw going on bullying of staff I don't like. That lad is an asset to weather spoons and I think deserves to be treated with more respect and certainly Infront of paying customers this looked unprofessional and made us feel uneasy. Think the area manager should keep more of an eye on their branch managers this was disappointing to witness and has actually put me off using weatherspoons...
