A few tatty signs on the counter passively aggressively told us in no uncertain terms that they think “CASH IS KING”. I don’t think that. The customer is king in my book. I don’t carry cash these days. I’m not actually that keen on the grubby money changing hands via the same hands that feeds me in food service in this day and age.
I forgot to get sauces for the kids so made a second purchase where the server really made a big deal about this and insisted that I spent a minimum of £2.50 if I had to use card (after I’d just given them £30+) so was forced to get more sauces than I needed. Won’t be going back there as a result.
What’s best? taking a small percentage hit on the sale to ensure a happy customer with a potential for repeat business and a positive review, or quibbling 50p and never seeing them again?
And they forgot my mushy peas from the order so I had to go back.
Food was nice though - to be fair. Not the best I’ve ever had but yea, not bad. Won’t be going...

Absolutely disgusting, got home and bit into completely raw chicken (see photos) and ate a mouthful... don’t worry, it made me sick immediately so it was brought straight back up.
Called Castle Fisheries and they said don’t worry I can get some free chicken next time... then the guy hung up the phone. Absolute joke. We used to like this place for fish and chips but you’ve lost a customer for life. Enjoy your investigation from the Food Standards Agency...
Their response on here: “We kindly asked you to bring the food back so we can investigate. You spoke to us rudely and swore at us on the telephone.”
This is completely untrue, the photos speak for themselves. They have showed no ownership at all... a genuine apology and a refund would have been understandable but I’m happy to escalate this much...

This was the most disappointing takeaway I've ordered .The fish was the size of half a slice of bread and same thickness....(regular fish unbatterd is usually 6oz but Castle fisheries are 4oz ? 33%smaller ?. Mushy peas were forgotten about had to remind the staff who put a small pot in the microwave to heat up this was on a Saturday afternoon...I was the only customer in the shop ....very poor food...
