After ordering we requested to substitute the roast potatoes for a Yorkshire Pudding and was told that it depends if the Chef remembers. Food arrived not changed and was sent back. One meal (Chicken Baguette with Yorkshire instead of roast potato's) was fine but 2 beef baguettes with roast potatoes was not good. Beef was undercooked, was told it was how the Chef liked it, and potatoes were rock solid. Could hear the chef complaining when went to toilet and could hear staff talking about us as one of or family had eaten else wear, being rude about how there were only 3 meals.
Only positive to this experience was the women who debt with us after the issue. She said that see totally agreed with us and could not apologise enough!

Read moreExcellent hospitality, and amazing food. Myself and a couple of friends stopped here for a respite from the rain as we toured the Yorkshire Dale's on our motorcycles. The owners made us feel very welcome, and even lit the fire for us to warm up and dry some of our gear out. We also ordered some drinks and food from the menu and when it arrived it actually blew us away. It's not typical pub food. Its properly home cooked style meals that aren't just reheated like most pubs, someone put a lot of love into it. Fully recommend anything with chips (as they're home cut and home fried!), and the pies were to die for.

Read morePopped in here for some lunch, we decided on mash and Cumberland sausage and steak pie and chips. The service was quick and efficient. The sausages was very tasty to the point we asked if they were from the local area. The barman looked into it with the chef and returned telling us they was from Hamiltons in the area, so in leaving we went to the butchers and bought some to bring home. Beautiful Cumberland sausages. The steak pie was very tasty too. Our only issue was the garden peas were dry and hard even after been covered in gray, So unable to eat them. But great service...
