Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

For the 1st time after Covid and the old staff leaving I was really angry angry disappointed with the service and the look of the place. The floor was dirty and the tables were not cleared of the used cups and dishes I had to clear my table in order to eat my sandwich and drink my coffee. Also the young man and young woman seemed to be more interested in chatting to each other rather than concentrate in the job at hand. There was a delivery which came in to the premises from the Lateral door which had to be kept opened until the the delivery man left with his metal container, however afterwards there was no attempt by the staff to shut the door as it should have been done. Although it was not a cold afternoon there was still a draught which was not pleasant to endure and as a result I left before I could de sandwich and coffee settle down!!!! The venue needs a person in charge to keep an eye on...

Drinks weren't great, luke warm. However, the worst part was the state of the toilets. Looked like they had not been cleaned all year! Rubbish all over the floor, taps didn't work, sink covered in dust. What looked like a dirty nappy on the changing table and smelt; not sure when the bin was last emptied. Used at 11am on Sun morning. Reported it to staff member who said they were last cleaned the night before (no way) and that he would attend to it straight away. I was there for another 30 mins and absolutely no effort was made to inspect them, let alone clean them. There were 4 members of staff working and no queue at time of reporting, so definitely had the capacity...

This Costa is well placed in the town, just down from sainsburys, so after a grocery shop pop in and relax. The Hot chocolate is excellent, a tip for you... ask them to pop in a flake, and when you get near the bottom you hit an instance chocolatey boost from the melted flake.

The staff are very pleasant and will offer suggestions if you have special need regarding the cake based products (which are all very nice, especially the victoria sponge). Disabled Access is made easy at both entrances which and parking can be had at the sainsbury's...
