Crown & Sceptre — Restaurant in England

Four of us visited here as part of our 'calender crawl' so we were here for looking for some different and unique beers.. I wont keep you in suspense - this definately wasn't the place for that. Nothing at all exceptional at the bar thats not available at nearly every other pub locally so we were reduced to choosing Worthingtons Best Bitter Creamflow..!! Yes Really.. The premises as a whole did appear a bit jaded and worse for wear but staff were ok and there was some interesting late 70's to early 80's music being played which prompted good conversation basically comparing the voice quality of Elvis and George Michael.. though other artist mentions...

Fantastic pub,. Proper old school pub, Mike & Chris are excellent landlords, they got great knowledge of local beers/ciders, big choice of drinks, lovely restaurant, good food options. Big airy pub, the landlords are big Northern Soul fans & have regular music nights. Really friendly crowd there, very welcoming, has parking outside,, got good fair pricing. There are new owners at the Crown and Sceptre. It now serves excellent beer. Haven't tried the food but apparently it's very good when available. There are lots of events planned here, including live music, Northern Soul discos & quizzes, karaoke, and acoustic evenings when people come along & take turns to play instruments and /or sing.
