In response to Jane Smith's review, you imply that the landlady Lynn is rude to the locals. Being one of the said locals I fail to see how Lynn is rude and would love to know which 'locals' you spoke to as any local who knows them would say different. Also you imply that the owner was drunk all the time, how long were you in there for a few hours or a matter of days?! I have been drinking in here for a number of years and not once I have seen a mouse. The pub is clean and friendly the staff are all lovely and the land lord and lady are welcoming and friendly. Six of our friends booked in for a birthday meal at the pub following a recommendation. It was our first visit and we were not sure what to expect but ALL six of us agreed it was the best meals ( for what we chose) we had ever enjoyed. Two fish pies (packed with prawns, salmon, white fish) a Hunter's Chicken, Fish and Chips, Scampi and chips and Cottage Pie and each and every dish was SUPERB. We visited here for the first time on Valentine’s Day, expecting the service and food quality to be impacted by the Valentines rush, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff handled the busy night with ease, providing excellent service throughout. The food was fantastic, my lamb shank being the best I’ve had.
