Ground Kemptown — Restaurant in England

In this day and age when the new pubs are actually coffee shops, there everywhere, it’s incredibly refreshing to go into a coffee shop that has got it just right.. Superb little coffee shop, the food is on another level compared to other coffee shops along with the expertly made coffee, even when they are making tea which is sometimes my preference, the same amount of love goes into the making of that tea, love that, that alone speaks volumes. It’s also exceptional run, not just saying that, Albina and Iryna really know what they are doing, they have simply found that right balance of interacting with customers while serving excellent food along with first class beverages, hot or cold, all while chilled music fills your ears which really sets the wonderful tone and ambiance. I don’t know what’s happened to this place. I’d been a few times before and thought it was incredible. The branch in Lewes is a must-visit place for me too, but I was really disappointed with my most recent visit to this one.

The customer service was pretty poor. They got my drink wrong, and when the barista brought over the correct one, he loudly banged it down onto the table without saying anything. It was also not very nice.

The food was mediocre and I don’t think they know what vegan means. My food tasted like it had butter in it, and they also gave me extra butter for the bread.

I’ll still go to the Lewes branch, but I’ll not bother trekking all the way up to...

Rainy day coffee stop with a friend from out of town and where do I start. We didn’t get coffee! A customer at the counter having a nice long chit chat with the lady serving who didn’t even see the three of us and was in no rush to end the chit chat. So we decided to sit down and see if she would come over after saying she would text her later etc. She obviously doesn’t own the business as she didn’t engage until I sarcastically said thank you as we left! I love supporting my independent local hang outs. But the establishment or employee needs to make that effort. Ended up at our other local Portland where the coffee was brought to the table...
