House of Chaplin — Restaurant in England

Went in for brunch today and was very disappointed by the lack of care showed to food safety. I ordered avo and poached eggs on well cooked toast, I got the above as well as smoked salmon on top of the eggs, I accept mistakes happen and the owner took it away and said they would redo the eggs,replacing the plate however they just removed the smoked salmon and returned the now cold eggs still contaminated with the salmon, I took the 2nd plate up to the counter and whilst I was offered another replacement there was no apology for the poor quality control and potentially dangerous cross contamination, fortunately, because the food was returned so quickly I had already suspected that they had taken the quick of option of removing the salmon and I only ate a tiny amount of the egg and noticed a taste of the salmon. Had I eaten the eggs I would have been very ill because of the fish contamination. Its doubly disappointing that it was the owner who removed and returned the food so they were clearly aware of what the kitchen's...

How have I not reviewed House of Chaplin...? Sara, Chris... I don't know what's going on haha!! I don't know what to say because if I start, I may not stop!!! This is my place. My place to go when I need a cup of tea or the best hot chocolate in town and a bit of cake OR... prosecco and or cocktails!! The coffee was really good quality, and I'd definitely return for a coffee. We had a bagel with pastrami, cheese, and pickles. Unfortunately, the pastrami is really thin so places will normally put 5,6 slices on especially with thick bread. I had 2 slices so I couldn't taste anything but pickles. The Bagel wasn't warm it had cooled down due to slower service. I don't think leaving one person to serve the whole place is fair on anyone especially when you pay £20 for 2 coffees and 2 bagels.
