Very lovely place, but I've noticed that this was a 5* food hygiene, and now it's 3*. Fish and chips were good. Very decent portions, loads of chips, and a good bit of fish. The prices could be better but that's just how things are going now of days. Tartar sauce was nice, and the curry sauce & mushy peas were lovely and came in massive pots. Staff were lovely, and the service was very attentive. There was a que to get in. Bit of a wait, about 15 minutes, but that is nice to see. It proves it's good. Some other points, I think staff should be a bit more on their feet. People were waiting outside, and tables were just sat empty with plates on. Also, you need to keep the white paper receipts with your orders when you pay. This was not told to us by staff when we ordered. Luckily, we had kept ours on the table. I can see this causing issues.

After a weekend staying at primrose valley we fancied a good fish and chippy tea .. and let me tell you Inghams did not disappoint … I had the large cod chips pot of peas curry sauce bread and butter and a pot of tea … absolutely gorgeous the cod was chunky and big flakes of fish with lovely golden crispy batter .. peas were fabulous best I’ve had in a while and the chips … proper chips .. wish we had a fish and chip restaurant like this in Manchester .. was filled and satisfied for our journey back to Manchester without the sometimes .. er feeling you get after a large chippy tea .. staff were lovely to and very reasonable for the quality of food you really can tell the freshness and quality of the food 5stars from us

We had a lovely meal at Ingrams during our visit to Filey. It’s a great spot for families—very kid-friendly with a relaxed atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The staff were attentive and genuinely warm, checking in just the right amount without being overbearing. The food was excellent. Portions were generous, perfect after a day at the beach, and everything was served piping hot. The crispy batter on the fish was a standout—light, golden, and full of flavour without being greasy. Paired with thick-cut chips, it was classic seaside fare done really well. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a welcoming place with good food and great service. We’ll definitely be back!

Be aware I've never written a bad review before but I had to on this occasion because I've never experienced this in any resteraunt before. As a family of 4 adults and one 3 Yr old. We were astonished to be told that we could not have a extra small plate to share a little bit of fish and chips off our plate ,because there was no sharing allowed it was their policy. Our child isn't a big eater at 3yrs old ,and to feed him we were told we had to buy him a full portion of a child's fish and chips.Which we know would have been a total waste of money as he wouldn't have ate very much. We were told the child had to be in a high chair to qualify to eat a couple of bits of fish and chips from our plate. 'It's the shops policy '.We were told by the waiter. Yet it states on a notice there ..that sharing food is not allowed, yet in brackets it states toddlers are excluded. What the Hell are these people thinking that your going to pay for food that will be wasted. We had ordered 1 scampi meal and 3 regular fish and chips (which were large portions) and i had ordered a bigger fish than i normally would eat so it was enough food to share with the child . 1 cup tea. So for those it cost us £61. It seems to me that these owners are just plain bloody greedy. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. The person waiting on was insistent we couldn't have a little plate it was their policy. WELL SHAME ON YOU INGHAMS YOU SPOILED OUR FAMILY DAY OUT YOU CAUSED US SO MUCH STRESS AND EMBARRASSMENT TO US. The childs mum was upset cause she just wanted to feed her child and had to go outside to have a cry and to console her little boy who was by now upset because he was hungry. All we wanted was a little plate ! WE All JUST WANTED TO LEAVE. Well shame on You. I had to use a saucer from my cup to put a couple of bits of fish and chips on for him to eat. I'm not going to stop the child from eating because of your stupid policy. YES I'M ANGRY AND WE WONT BE COMING BACK AND WE WONT BE RECCOMENDING YOUR RESTERAUNT TO ANY OF OUR FRIENDS.

Just a little thankyou to the girl who came out and did apologise to us at the end of our meal. Afraid it was too late the whole experience ruined our end of...

Went in to Inghams with my wife on Easter sunday late afternoon around 4.15pm. There were spare tables. We ordered 2 Sticky toffee puddings with custard and 2 pots of tea. After waiting a few minutes, the waitress returned and told us that management wouldn't serve us tea and desserts alone and that we had to leave. I could understand the reasoning behind this if the restaurant was full and there were people waiting for tables like they often are at lunchtime for example. But this was not the case. We left without causing any fuss, but feeling that we had been treated unnecessarily poorly and disrespectfully. Not by the waitress I must add,she was clearly embarrassed that she had to tell us that our custom was not welcome. We went round to another fish and chip restaurant called "The Brown Room". We were made welcome and were served tea, chocolate sponge, sticky toffee pudding and custard by a friendly waitress. Very nice it was too. The Brown room were happy to have us as customers. Why wouldn't they be? With the tip I gave them it was another £20 in their till. Will never return to Inghams again.( Yes,we have been there before) Their arrogance and condescending attitude was quite insulting. Would rather go somewhere where our custom is valued. I rated food 1 star, because we didn't get any. 1 for service for the same reason. However the waitress was very pleasant whilst taking the order that was turned down.(Not her fault) 1 for atmosphere, well my review should be self explanatory. It is a chip shop, with a cafe attached. That's all. Management clearly see it as something far grander. Better than the likes of us are worthy of it would...

Walking past looked like a popular place to eat. Sat down as a party of 5 and 2 children at the same time as a couple of other smaller tables. After 10 minutes still hadnt ordered and had to ask. Order taken for 6 meals and 5 drinks. 15 minutes later the drinks still hadnt arrived after asking twice another five minutes later and other tables sat with us and after were eating and still no drinks. Our table was right next too the kithen were they also prep drinks and on the side.....OUR DRINKS!!! Had to ask again for them to finally be brought out by a server acting as if we were an inconvenience. 50 minutes since sitting down and asking a couple more times about our food we could now overhear the serving staff in the kitchen moaning (i put that nicely) about us asking where our food was. That was it we made the decision to leave, we called the server over and told her that we wanted to cancel our fod and pay for the drink. At which point we got our first sincere apology. The rest of the group went on the hunt for food elsewhere while i paid for the drinks which again took ages. I have never had to say so many times in my life "i just want to pay for my drinks and cancel the food" finally got it sorted then heard a person in the kitchen asking what he was supposed to do with the food he has STARTED cooking! I had to bite my tongue and walk out at this point, caught up to the family and found a much better chippoe round the corner, served in 5 minutes and enjoyed on a bench...
