Having visited this restaurant several times during our annual trips to Filey, we where left disappointed on this visit. Weeds on the entrance, days old fag ends, beer coasters and tissue/napkins in the corners and planters. In door floors, outdoors & toilets need a proper clean. Even though we hadn't booked, we were offered a table by the toilet entrance. (The nicer vacant/booked tables never got occupied during our 1 hour visit) We ordered 2 drinks which were plonked on the table next to, but not on the coasters! (Why?) Our Pizza (a bit bland and no sign of garlic butter) was delivered along with a side salad. (Why can't a pizza be cut fully into portions when you have the tools) We were given balsamic dressing, which was 3 months out of date! (No apology) The waitress cleared some nearby tables and noted the dog water bowl was empty but didn't bother to replenish. No one asked if our meal was OK until we came to pay. Then we got the usual token gesture at tip time "was everything ok" Owners/management need to visit.

Visited twice, evening meal was ok but overpriced for the quality of food. Had a seafood platter to start, £8 for scampi, calamari and prawns. standard deep fried from a freezer bag which I could get from Iceland for under a pound. pizza for the main which was ok, decent size. Good espresso martini. For breakfast I had a large English for £8. Have to pay extra for black pudding which I think if your going to offer a small and a large option on the menu the large should include the pudding. Cappuccino was terrible. A slither of froth on top of very milky bland coffee. if you're going to charge proper coffee prices you should know how to make them. Service needed to be more attentive, staff chatting whilst we were trying to get more drinks. We also weren't told about the specials menu which we later overheard other tables being offered. So missed out on dishes that we would have chosen. Nice decor, good to see they kept the vine.

What a fabulous little find this place was. We stumbled upon it by chance and so glad we did. The interior throughout is beautiful. It features a 230 year old grape vine running throughout the restaurant which is stunning. The setting really was special. The food was incredible and the portions huge. We had a freshly caught flamborough dressed crab with salad, tuna nicoise salad and loaded fries. Paired with a cosmopolitan cocktail and a coke. The service was swift and attentive. We will most definitely be revisiting for the evening menu and bringing the family. It is advisable to book for an evening. Highly recommend a visit.

First off I put true reviews on food and this place is a microwave heaven.. I did a work trial here and was asked to work here. I did 2 days was unpaid and with the promise of being paid. Bit let me get to the restaurant. As Filey is a tiny place some people may find this decent food. But as a professional chef with my own place I can tell everyone this place was completely unsanitary. Unorganised. And altogether unprofessional. This is not a spiteful review its an honest review. I did eat there last year and the food was more than disappointing. The veg awful the custard on the pudding awful and my guest were highly unimpressed. As there will be many many reviews for you to read. I write like this as I don't like being cheated out of money even if it was a penny. And I believe giving full customer satisfaction with my food. So when I get a snide reply know that I'm not spiteful on my reviews I'm honest and to the point. Produce bought from supermarket. Generic herbs and spices. So please don't eat here if you can do just as good or better at home. Thanks. Also I go round England and troubleshoot at restaurants and hotels and cafes and Im paid to rule out what's not working at an establishment. So there will be lots more reviews at many other places bad and good. But my job is to see what's not working in an establishment. And the food doesn't work here. If the food is OK for...

Went for meal. Two of us. 545. No one in except 6 diners. Asked to sit in window. Told by young girl. Not possible as those were for Four people tables. I knew we would be out before the place got busy but no. Ms Jobsworth insisted. Was going to leave but decided to stay. Food pretty average. Tuscan chicken blathered in a sauce with overcooked chicken under it. No forks at table. Very hard to catch anyones eye as 3 staff chatting behind bar. Got my own from another table. So not a good experience. Maybe a one off I don’t know but being in the Hotel trade myself I know what good customer service is and this didn’t come up to a good level. As expected. Window tables were still available when we left. Asked for pizza to take home as far too big to finish. Instead of as most do take the food box it up and return we were brought a box to do it ourselves. Pretty poor method and unexpected Put young people in charge without proper training and these are the results. The customer is always right....
