Istanbul Restaurant — Restaurant in England

A colleague and I were in Hereford for a work trip and at the recommendation of a local taxi driver we’ve had the absolute pleasure of dining at Istanbul on three separate occasions…and each time we’ve been, we’re gobsmacked by how good the food is. I’m a big fan of Turkish food and have been to many different restaurants in London, in various major cities in the US as well as in Turkey itself … and this place has got to be one of the best - if not THE best I’ve had. The meat is tender and succulent, meze bursting with flavour, salad crispy and fresh, and the homemade bread is to die for. Service is impeccable. You can really tell that the chefs and staff take so much pride in the food they serve. To top it all off, it’s very reasonably priced too! If this place were in London there would be queues out the door or it’d be booked out in advance for months. People of Hereford, you really don’t know how lucky you are to have this absolute gem of a restaurant! My next work trip here cannot come soon enough! My only note to management is I hope staff are being paid accordingly for their wonderful service - it’s such a rare thing to see; they deserve to be rewarded for...

Today we visited this restaurant to check out the menu and the taste of the kebab. The menu was not different to another Turkish restaurants in UK. Not much choice of mezes and choices but they seem to concentrate on kebab which is cooked on an open fire bbq which is the only plus side of other kebab shops in hereford. We ordered the Adana kebab sac tava and lamb shish iskender (unfortunately they did not have the lamb doner) awith lahmacun. Adana was nicely cooked and was soft but just lack of spice and seasoning otherwise nice. Lamb iskender my wife ate she said it was nice just nice. You cannot ask for more. Sac kebab was again nice but lack of seasoning and spices must say once added spaces and seasoning I did enjoy eating it. Lahmacun was almost the authentic taste which I enjoyed eating tha0t too tha0t being my favourite so far. It is nice little restaurant with friendly service. I just hope they keep cooking this way so that they are alittle different from other kebab takeaways. No doubt I will be trying out other items in the menu and wish them good luck on their venture. First week of opening. So far so good. Give it a try....

Our dining experience at this Turkish restaurant was exceptional. The quality of the food was outstanding — the meats were beautifully marinated and expertly prepared by highly skilled chefs. We ordered a special grill platter to share, which allowed us to enjoy a wide variety of kebabs, each cooked to perfection.

The starters were equally impressive. The meze selection was remarkable, featuring fire-roasted vegetables enhanced with rich olive oil and homemade tomato sauces, offering authentic flavors that truly stood out.

The atmosphere complemented the meal perfectly. The music added a pleasant cultural touch, creating a warm and inviting setting. The service was also excellent — the manager was very charming and the waitresses were extremely attentive and helpful throughout the evening.

Overall, this restaurant offers an authentic Turkish dining experience with excellent cuisine, warm hospitality, and a delightful ambiance. It is a place I would highly recommend to anyone seeking refined flavors and...
