There will be two types of review here. One type relates to the 'old' Jennys which was superb. A proper cafe serving great food. Since moving a week or two ago a couple of doors down to much bigger premises, it is pretty awful. A complete lack of training or management puts the serving staff in an awful position but the food is now just bad, that's if you manage to get anything as orders take anincredible amount of time to arrive or are simply forgotten about. Hopefully this is just a transition thing but I'm not going back anytime soon.
Having read the response to my review by the 'owner' I am stunned. The food was bad because it was made badly. Jennys isn't a new business and blaming everything on moving premises is pretty poor. The pancakes were stale, the syrup congealed and our orders were literally forgotten. Do not tell me I'm being unfair. I wish Jennys all the best but it was truly awful and they will go out of business if they...
Read moreReally not an enjoyable breakfast! The front door was kept open making it quit cold. The order was messed up, my wife asked for no beans and was offered mushrooms instead..... neither turned up. The bacon was tough and over cooked. The meal looked very meagre on a large plate and we overheard othe customers saying "they only take cash" which a waitress confirmed and added they are always having trouble with their WiFi. We had no cash, at least not the £25 for 2 teas and 2 breakfasts. The final straw came with a £30 bill. .. when confronted the waitress said we must have another tables bill, which coincidentally also had ordered 'no beans'. It makes you wonder doesn't it! This is a totally honest and...
Read moreLeft the restaurant an hour ago after six of us went in, including one child. There was nothing on the menu for vegetarian children, so we asked if they could accommodate her. We were told no. So I asked again, again told no. How odd they could not accommodate a vegetarian child, when they have vegetarian sausages on the menu, and all they had to do was not cook chicken nuggets but cook vegetarian sausages instead. I then spoke to the man who said it was his restaurant and he couldn't even answer me, just stood gormless! So we left and went to green King where they were fully able to accommodate a vegetarian child. Insane and rude service, would not recommend. Expensive too. Green king was much...
