Jerk Island Grill — Restaurant in England

I had a birthday party for fifty guests. Before placing my order I wanted to make sure we would be happy with the food. I ordered some food that arrived hot tasty, and delicious so had no hesitation in placing the order for the party.

I spoke with a man named Keon he was very helpful and professional and listened to what I wanted. A few of my guests are vegetarian, so needed a vegetarian option which wasn't a problem. I also had to change the date and amend the options several times which again wasn't an issue.

On the day of the party, the driver arrived with the food he was friendly polite and professional, and the food was hot.

The food was outstanding my guests said it was the best they had tasted we ordered the following items:

Rice and Peas, Jerk Chicken, Beef Patties, Chicken Patties, Vegetarian Patties, Festival, Vegetarian Curry, Coleslaw, Steam Vegetables, Plantains, Mac Cheese, Apple Pie, Caribbean Cake, Rum Punch,

My guests couldn't stop raving about it and were praying they would be able to take food back with them. Hahaha…..

First time I've used Jerk Island Grill, via Just Eat. Food arrived in 1 hour 20 minutes (on a Friday night - they were very busy)!

Food was really nice! I am very full now.

We got; -Rice box with peas* & jerk chicken (for one) -Original jerk chicken, rice & peas* (2 people to share) -Mac & cheese -Beef patty -Chips -Ginger beer (All pictured) & it all came to £23.94 (with free delivery over £10). (The coleslaw was thrown in free).

*By peas, they mean kidney beans.

Very reasonably priced, for the amount and quality of food.

This was definitely enough food for the 3-4 people it was ordered for. The rice and jerk chicken especially was really nice, as was the mac & cheese. Went well together.

The chips were standard takeaway ones & the beef patty was alright too. Probably wouldn't bother with them again. The ginger beer complemented the meal.

I'd certainly recommend JIG to anyone who likes rice/ chicken/ Caribbean style food.

All the family enjoyed it and are now rather full. Will be ordering from here again! Was nice to try...

Positives: Plantain was fried nicely, wasn't oily, not to ride and not too soft. The food arrived hot enough to eat without having to reheat it which is good.

Negative: I'm giving 2 stars becuase food took 2.5 hours to come. I tried to call to find out what was up with my order, at 9:50pm but it kept going to voicemail. It was now 10:00pm and shop closed but no sign of my order or update. Was about to proceed to make something to eat as it was now 10:30pm and at that point I just believed they had probably forgotten about my order. 10:34 my food came. No apologies for the delay, guy was friendly though I guess... the stew chicken lacked abit of flavour and the rice and peas... the rice didn't taste like authentic carribean rice and peas.

Personally wouldn't order from there again as my first experience has not...
