Pi Pizza Poole — Restaurant in England

In summary: great pizza, very hard working staff, but poor management means the place just collapses under pressure.

My wife and I had a table booked at Pi on the Saturday of the Vintage Festival, which meant the restaurant was and had been very busy.

We were served by several members of staff, all asking us questions we had already been asked such as asking for our orders (even though it had already been taken) and if we had finished our "starters" which were in fact our sides which just so happened to arrive 45 minutes before our pizza. No coordination between the staff, no coordination of the arrival of food. Why were waiting staff not assigned tables?

Only once were we asked if we would like a drink, right at the start, but never again after this, despite waiting an hour for our main course.

We were sat fairly central in the main restautrant and could see the absolute chaos going on around us. Other customers were getting frustrated while the staff just carried on running around trying to get ahead of the backlog, but seemingly not doing much to smooth things over with their customers.

I absolutely do not want anyone reading this to think the terrible service was the fault of the waiting staff. They were all clearly working under extreme pressure and doing the best the could. Summer in particular was great at explaining the difficult circumstances they were dealing with.

From what we could tell, the waiting staff were just not cordinated and there were no management systems in place to deal with a high volume of orders. This is clearly a management issue which they need to get sorted before I can recommend Pi Pizza or consider returning.

It's such a shame because the pizza is great, as reflected by the mostly good reviews. Looking at the poor reviews, they mostly seem to mention poor service so Pi Pizza must be aware but have just have not fixed the...

We had our wedding dinner at Pi Pizza Poole, and it was perfect!

Knowing how much we loved their food, we did not hesitate to book Pi Pizza, especially as we were after something a bit more informal. Since we got married at Poole Guildhall, being on the Quay was ideal, and the restaurant itself is full of character, beautifully decorated, with sea views. We were able to use the upstairs space, which made it feel even more private and special.

The manager Erman was incredibly helpful and offered great suggestions on how to make the setup work. We went for a semi-seated arrangement, which suited our relaxed vibe.

The food and service were outstanding. The staff worked tirelessly and truly went above and beyond to make our day memorable. The 20" pizzas with various toppings were all showstoppers - every time a new one came out, it got everyone excited. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious and impressive they were.
