Kawa House — Restaurant in England

Have visited this cafe twice. The first time I went I loved it. I had a delicious raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake and a lovely oat latte. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. Visited again today, with my mom and daughter for a belated mother's day treat and had a completely different experience. No atmosphere, the staff were OK, but not especially friendly. My mother and I both had milkyway cake and the topping had a strange rubbery texture. It didn't taste good. Great white chocolate frappes, one make with oat milk, but my mom's latte was extremely strong. We left quickly as we were very disappointed and went to find somewhere nicer. That leaves this cafe hard to review. Perhaps the times I visited were the difference. Thus, I could say great on a weekday early afternoon. Not great on a Saturday early afternoon. Although it does close at 3pm on a Saturday, so perhaps timing explains the difference. I will visit again on a weekday early afternoon, just to give it another chance, but I won't go back...

A local classic, a great spot for brunch with friends. The food is extremely high quality (albeit with a price tag to match! Be prepared, this isn't a cheap lunch) and the coffee is excellent too, you will not be disappointed.

The menu is always changing which means there's always something new and interesting to try. However it does mean sometimes your favourite (my beloved pierogi!) may disappear for a while. Basic toasties/paninis have been removed from the menu so expect more of a brunch dining experience than a traditional cafe lunch.

With an alcohol license on the way (as of Feb 2025) the only thing extra I think would be great is a late shift (maybe reopening 6/7-9) opening, this place would be a great vibe in the evenings after...

I live nearby and am really excited to find this lovely place for breakfast/dinner. I have been back a few times and have not been let down. I've had full English breakfast and tuna & egg sandwich, spot on! I absolutely love the hazelnut latte Aggie makes, shes the most friendly and helpful member of staff Ive met, she remembers how I like about my sandwich and she always makes sure everything is right for me and my little one.
