Hallo Mallow — Restaurant in Great Britain

A lovely little cafe, perfect for a quick bite and coffee. My cheese and pickle sandwich tasted very good and homely. The latte was really good too! (I'm usually disappointed with lattes in most places and opt for it just to get a quick dose of coffee, not too strong and easy to drink. So it's definitely something that I was impressed by the lattes' taste here!) Friendly and helpful host with a cute little dachshund in the adjoining room. Since it was near closing time and I was the only customer in the cafe at the time, a man the dog was familiar with (regular customer/owner's dad maybe?) let the dog out for a breather (happy me to see it! Would've suggested letting it out in a moment anyway as I love dogs, wouldn't mind it around and it was whimpering from inside hearing familiar voices). Stopped off here on our last day of our visit to York for a quick drink before heading home. This seems to be a family run small business and everyone was very warm and welcoming. My coffee was lovely. If we'd had more time I would've definitely grabbed a bite to eat as what was on display looked great. I'd highly recommend dropping in if you're passing by. It's a nice little detour if you're walking along the river or along Fulford road.

We had to dash off and I ended up leaving my partners bag full of new makeup under our table. After contacting the business they agreed to send the bag home to us and even refused to allow me to cover the cost. Very honest and lovely people. Yesterday after seeing advertising about "luxury ice-cream" on the riverside we walked around 8 mins to get the place with the ice-cream. The cafe is nice inside. The stuff expressed her unhappiness that we interrupted her chat and drinking coffee with some people sitting outside. Unwillingly she came to us to serve the ice-cream.
