Just had a lovely 2 night break at Camerarderie Guest House..Ashley the owner is very organised and a lovely man who is so approachable if you need anything..when we got to our room ( twin room ) we were so surprised by what we found,,the room was lovely and the rainfall shower was so refreshing I could have stayed in there forever there’s shampoo and conditioner to use if you want to.Also bath robes and slippers for your use.We had a fruit bowl with apples satsumas and bananas, there was a plate with scones jam croissant and a pastry choccie biscuits,in the mini fridge was 2 bottles of water a small carton of orange juice and 2 small fruit yoghurts and also lots of sachets of milk.Tea bags ( Yorkshire tea ) coffee and sugar with lovely big tea cups and saucers. It was quite cold while we were there but the heating was very nice and we were lovely and warm.It was around 10-15 walk into the city,we preferred the river walk and found that a little quicker. If you turn right at the end of the street and turn left at The Lighthorseman down the steps and turn right and carry on and over the Blue Bridge you will will be just minutes from the centre. And the bonus was it’s free to park on the road at the side of the house.Theres even a fridge with beer cider wine to finish your night off with a honesty box on the wall..Ashley has certainly thought of everything to make his guests comfortable on their stay.Cant wait to...
Read moreIf you are wondering about booking here, then don't hesitate - get it booked. I had a 3 night stay here with my son - a dad and lad weekend. A short number 7 bus ride from the train station or back into town or a lovely walk along the river - make sure you pop into The Kings Arms for a cheap pint. Two pints only cost us £5.60. The room we were in (room 1) is en suite with pretty much everything you can think of supplied - bath and hand towels, flannels, dressing gown, slippers, toiletries, mini fridge with tea, coffee etc. There was even a bowl of fruit and a try of pastries. Cereal bowls and cutlery with some pot washing bits and bobs. For the ladies, a hair drier and vanity mirror. Sunny's Cafe across the road does a great breakfast but unfortunately doesn't open Sundays. The bus stops are at the top of the road so you don't need to walk far. If you fancy the river walk, head down Alma Terrace across the road from the bus stop, straight down to the river; it takes about 20 minutes to get to the town centre and most of the visitor attractions. When coming along the river back, Alma Terrace is conveniently signposted. Ashley, the owner is very accommodating and helpful. Finally, if you fancy a drink in your room there is a fridge in the hallway stocked with beers, wine, pop etc with a price list and an honesty box! I'll be back...
