Just been to this McDonaldâs (1:20 am Thursday 13th of January). Been a regular at this particular location for a while, never had a problem there before, so bear that in mind. I mention this, not because I expected them to recognise me, but because I have had far more good service than bad, but this whole situation from todays visit rubbed me up the wrong way.
About 1:20am I visited. I only had cash on me. Went in store and to the counter, and the old white lady with blonde hair behind the counter took one look at me and said âcard onlyâ. I tried to ask why but she wouldnât answer. Had to leave the shop empty handed, as I had no other way to pay.
I thought, hmm, I did drive here... I wonder if they will allow me to pay In cash at the drive through, I can see nobody is there right now, so worst case scenario, I just drive away without having wasted any extra time really.
I ask the drive through person if cash is accepted, and they said it is. Confirmed it a second time as I finished listing my order, and went to the next window. They let me pay cash at this window with no issues.
As I parked up to eat my food, it dawned on me why the lady in store didnât serve me; I was wearing a huge, over sized hoodie, one of those ones that nearly reaches your knees.
I can only assume the person behind the counter took one look at me, assumed I was homeless (I am not) based on my attire alone, and said she could only accept card because she didnât want to handle money that had touched a homeless person??? As if that automatically makes it dirty or something???
I am not only disappointed that I was mistaken for a homeless person, but I am even more disappointed at the idea that a homeless person canât choose to buy their own food at this McDonaldâs because of judgemental staff. They have sinks, and soap. If they feel bad about accepting cash from someone they, presumably, think is unpleasant, they can wash their hands after serving them? But the idea that a homeless person who probably doesnât have a bank card due to needing a home address, being unable to buy food with legal tender, because of some judgemental old person makes me furious.
Absolutely appalling behaviour. Despicable. And very...
Read moreI placed an order on uber eats tonight at 1:43am, when the restaurant was supposed to be closing at 1:45. My order got accepted and then I proceeded to wait for over an hour while the estimated arrival time kept getting later and later. Eventually I decided to call the restaurant to figure out what was wrong. At that point I was met with a very rude member of staff telling me I placed my order too late and it wouldn't be delivered because they were closed. He proceeded to tell me that I placed my order at 2:08 a.m. and that they could not do anything about it. I know for a fact, someone had to physically accept my order otherwise it would have been cancelled from the get go. They let me wait for over an hour and the member of staff I talked to was incredibly rude on the phone. I understand that anyone working in the food industry that late at night just wants to go home but this is completely unacceptable. After spending a long time talking to uber eats, the only thing that they could do was just cancel the order. I will personally never be using this specific location again. I will make sure all my friends and family are aware of the treatment I received tonight as well. I now will be going to sleep hungry as every other restaurant in town closed while I was waiting for my initial order to arrive. This was the last thing I needed after a long...
Read moreI visited McDonaldâs Dovecot Road, High Wycombe on 10 August 2025.
I was a genuine paying customer (receipt available).
I did not exceed the 90-minute parking limit.
Despite this, I received a ÂŁ100 Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from MET Parking, claiming I had âleft the premises.â
When I raised this at the restaurant on 5 September, the Assistant Manager was dismissive, refused to provide his name, and told me simply to âlook onlineâ when I asked how to escalate my complaint. He provided no assistance at all.
I then contacted McDonaldâs Customer Services. Sadly, their responses were generic, misrepresented what I had said, and most importantly, they completely ignored my complaint about the Assistant Managerâs poor conduct. It seems McDonaldâs does not take staff attitude or customer service concerns seriously.
This has been a very disappointing experience: genuine customers should not be penalised with unfair PCNs, and staff should not treat customers in such an unhelpful manner. I hope McDonaldâs reviews its parking policies and ensures that both genuine customers and basic standards of service...
