Saturday 9th September aporía 230pm. Ordered the lasagne which Comes with salad . The picture shows a mixed Salad and the menu shows this too.All I got was stale lettuce and not so ripe tomatoes, no red onions or cucumbers as shown. No alternative either. They said they had run out of salad stuff! The lasagne was stale too. My friend had Cumberland sausage with mash and she complained and said it did not taste like Cumberland sausage and that the mash was very powdery and tasted like packet mash . The person we spoke to who his staff said was called Leo who had a presumed Newcastle accent was very defensive and rude , she asked to see the packet to proof if it was Cumberland sausages and he said he could show her what they ordered on paper . Disputed that it was not Cumberland sausage and my friend said that she was a Chef and Leo said it’s pub food what do you expect. He also said that she was obviously not a good cook and she didn’t know what she was talking about. He was extremely rude. We asked for refund and he said no. We mentioned that we would take the food to environmental health he then decided to give us a refund for the sausage and mash meal. Did not refund for the Lasagne which tasted stale. The garlic bread was soggy. Another person came out who I assume maybe the Chef and said Leo asked him to speak to us but he was also very rude and was not listening and speaking to us in very rude manner. We explained that we had already spoken to Leo but he continued to be rude and basically said that it was pub food , pre cooked and again what did we expect. Asking him nicely to leave us as we had heard enough from him but he would not leave our table and continued to be defensive and rude . Football was on and the pub was very empty no one else was eating in there . 8 people were in there which when thinking about it now it’s not surprising as when we visited the Falcon and the three tuns on the High Street which was crowded with people we were told by various people that it has gone down hill as the food is not great and the staff are very rude so people hardly frequent it to eat or watch the football .Had a meal in the Falcon which is Pub food and it was superb. There was no need for the rudeness...
Read moreRude staff that seem to get a kick out of upsetting customers visited 16/1/24 I visited yesterday a small group of 4 at first all ages 19-20 no problem with getting id’d as I’m a server and I know. The attitude from the get go was already a no from me. One member of the group ordered his drink - tried to- whilst the rest of us tried to find a table but he wasn’t served until we all showed id fair enough again but attitude was appalling. When we went to the bar to show our id’s one of our friends had forgotten his because he just came from work okay - fine he just won’t drink we were there to watch the football anyway- no he has to get his ID and we’re not allowed to be served till he does. So he at this point LEAVES the building and we still can’t be served because of “policy”. Because he “might be waiting outside and you’ll give him the drink while I’m serving a customer” which is ridiculous I’m not sure if the bar tender worked in retail and was confused or something even if this is a policy instead of being nice about he was rude and acted like we were a massive inconvenience. I wonder if a father and son would be treated the same way? Would a grown man be served a pint if he was with his child, surely he would just give the child the drink We sat there for 40 minutes without a drink waiting till our friend returned with his id he sat down to go get us to see if we were ready to order. Then the man at the bar shouted across the pub and pointed “YOU ID”. Once we were finally allowed to get a drink probably like 50 minutes after we walked in the door despite our friend LEAVING THE PREMISES we were treated with a very snarky attitude. Bar guy thinks everyone’s out to get him or something. There’s a reason why we were the only young people in their last night....
Read morewhen my steak arrived I could immediately see that something was not right. This was a thick cut of meat that looked dry and over cooked.
I complained to the staff she said she was pregnant ! But this no excuse i paid 50 pounds for 2 steak meals ! She was very rude and dismissive she tried to convince me and told me" but this is very well done u asked for this ! " Yes i did but still "well"cooked steak shud still be ateable. It looked like it was dumbed on the plate for that price u expect it to be a little bit seasoned. I felt like the waitress and the person who cooked the steak were ganging up on me and being very rude ! And argumentive not even an aplogy i felt rather intimidated. Is this how the staff treat their paying customers ? There was also dirty plates around us broken glass which i very nearly slipped on.
Spoke to the "arrogent manager neil " about my complaint and explained his staff were rude and their digusting service and he said he was happy not take this further and that i was only looking for a refund and that your "friend" said everything was ok but i was sick after being to this place so not everything is ok ! I wont be letting this go ! I mean question the the manager if you paid for steak and couldnt eat it for reasons said above wouldnt u want...
