We was on the way home from our expensive holiday in Blackpool, when my husband said to me shall we stop here for something to eat as little Derrek (our youngest) was starting to get unsettled as he was starting to get peckish. We stopped at this McDonald's as Google had stated that this was the closest one to us at the time.
As we drove up to this McDonald's I could see in my rear view mirror, little Derreks eyes light up, almost as if a blessing had hit him. We decided to eat in as we had been on a long journey from Blackpool heading to Peterborough so we thought we would stretch our legs. As we parked up little Derrek couldn't wait to jump out of the car and get his nashers round a happy meal cheese burger, as we don't usually eat this kind of food so this was little Derreks first time.
Walking up to the restaurant Derrek was shouting mummy look, mummy look, they do ice cream, I said may be after your dinner if you eat it all. As we walked in, it was at that persise moment we found out that our little Derrek is afraid of clowns. I've never heard a scream like it, it was so embarrassing as everyone turned around to look at us. I think deep down in my heart I knew why he may be scared of clowns, I think it was because we let him watch IT whilst on our exotic holiday to Blackpool. My husband had to take little Derrek back to the car as he was in bits bless him and I went on and orderd the food with our first born Keith.
Keith suggested we all get the Grand Big Mac as apparently they was going to discontinue them soon, trying to be an understanding mum I listen to Keith even though I'm a vegetarian (Big Mistake). We also got some mozzarella sticks to share as a family as I must say they did look scrummy.
Me and Keith went back to the car with the food for all of us, on the walk back I felt the cheeky smile grow on my face as i willingly knew that this would make little Derreks & Keith's day as this time they would get a full meal as we usually only eat A la Carte dishes.
We then sat in the car to eat our food like pesents as our little Derrek couldn't eat inside due to Ronold McDonald the clown being inside the restaurant. Eating away at this food I glanced down to see the mozzarella sticks winking at me as if to say "eat me". I had picked up the bag and opened it to take one out, it was there in front of me I was going to take my first bite when my husband had helped himself to the 2nd mozzarella stick. Of course then the kids saw their dad eat one so now they wanted one, I waffled mine down to spare my hand to give the other 2 to the children and ofcourse to my disarray they only come in portions of 3.
Being an understanding mum, Keith was bigger and older than Derrek so it was only right Keith had the last one as he is a growing young man. Derrek broke down into instant tears as if a tragedy had struck upon him, I like to think I'm a good understanding mum but if I gave him everything he wanted then Keith out first born would miss out on everything and as he was born first he should get everything.
Derrek cried all the way home from Wellingborough to Peterborough by this time my head felt like twice the size, I let my husband tuck Derrek into bed that night and I tucked Keith into bed as it was the easier option.
Anyway enough of me rambelling on, as a good mother I listen to Keith and got the Grand Big Macs even tough I'm a vegetarian and well let's just say I'm not a vegetarian anymore, God Keith is will always be my...
Read moreI had the opportunity to visit the McDonald's on London Road in Wellingborough and I must say, my experience was quite delightful. One of the first things I noticed was the well-organized pick-up point for delivery drivers and cyclists, conveniently located on the left-hand side of the till. This thoughtful arrangement undoubtedly contributes to the efficiency of the service, which was evident in the short waiting times I experienced. Despite the bustling environment, the staff gave the impression of being busy yet composed, handling the steady stream of customers with a commendable level of professionalism and poise. It's always refreshing to see a well-coordinated team working harmoniously, ensuring that every patron is attended to with care and promptness. The true gem of this establishment, however, is an employee named Bailey. His dedication to quality service shone through in his meticulous checks for thermal bags with the delivery personnel. It's a small detail, but it resonates deeply with me, as it shows a commitment to ensuring that the food arrives to customers at the right temperature, preserving the quality and taste that we all appreciate. Moreover, the cleanliness and spaciousness of the restaurant added to the overall positive experience. It's evident that the team here puts in the effort to maintain a pleasant dining environment, which makes the visit all the more enjoyable. In conclusion, the McDonald's on London Road in Wellingborough stands out as a prime example of fast food excellence. From the well-organized service to the standout staff member Bailey, it's clear that this location is doing things right. I would encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy the experience for themselves. Keep up the...
Read moreGenerally speaking, never have issues with McDonalds. Except for this one specific store, that somehow - without fail - ALWAYS seems to get the delivery order wrong. Having had numerous orders in the past incorrect before for our family, I wouldn't have usually used them again, but with a late night order and nowhere else delivering, I thought I'd give it a try again. One person order, can't get that wrong right?
Nope, they still managed to get it wrong - ordered the Big Arch Burger and chicken strips, got given... a wrap. Label on the sealed bag was correct as well, so absolutely the fault of whoever packed it. You'd forgive the one-off mistakes because they can happen, but when it's every. Single. Time... it beggars belief.
There is a serious problem at this specific building, and clearly some sort of investigation needs to happen - looking at other reviews here, it's clearly not just us affected by it. I've never had any issues like this anywhere else with McDonalds (again, a very good fast food restaurant a significant amount of the time), but it's always this specific place.
I don't like making complaints - it's not a nice thing to do - but in this case it's sadly...
