On our first day of holiday, we sought halal cuisine in Bude. Mirchi Restaurant presented the most suitable option, prompting us to dine there. Regrettably, our experience was far from satisfactory.

After a ten-minute wait, we were finally acknowledged and seated. While other patrons received menus promptly, the staff neglected to provide us with one. I had to intervene and request one, but my request was met with further disregard.

To exacerbate our situation, the restaurant failed to provide us with cutlery. Despite my polite inquiry, the staff remained indifferent. Consequently, we were left without essential tableware.

Despite arriving earlier than other customers, those who followed us received their meals before us. Consequently, we endured a one-hour and ten-minute wait before our food arrived.

A young male staff member approached us and apologised sincerely. I appreciate his genuine concern. However, the other Asian staff member exhibited unacceptable customer service behavior.

Our order included two mix grills, one chicken roghan, one mince rice, naan, 3 Roti, Popedom, drinks and fries. The food was subpar, rendering the extended wait and poor service inconsequential.

Despite the disappointing experience, I opted to leave a tip upon departing. This gesture was not motivated by a desire to compensate for their shortcomings, but rather a desire to maintain a professional demeanor.

Absolutely dissatisfied and offended by the service and food quality I received from this restaurant. I have been up all night going to the toilet, my stomach is as upset as can be, and for the first time I have endured a headache after eating poor food. What’s more, the mirchi charged myself and my partner £42 for two dishes, a rice and a nan. I couldn’t believe the prices. Reviewed the other two indian restaurants prices to find we would have only paid £25 for the same order. I queried the pricing as I noticed on their website they offered 10% off takeaway orders over £15. My response was ‘the 10% has already been discounted and the reduced prices have already been applied to the menu’. Which makes no sense as if I was to order under £15 would they then apply a 10% increase to the menus pricing?! I brought that up and the staff member began to become aggressive and just repeated what he had already said. To prevent a hostile situation for the sake of saving £4 I decided to querie no more. I just hoped that the food would be well worth the extortionate prices and poor customer service. But how wrong could I be. Taste was very bland, portion size below average, food quality - probably the worst I have ever had. I have been to and fro the toilet all night and still feel sick this morning.
