The location was ideal, right on the high street at the bottom of town; you could actually see it from pretty much any of the beach side attractions. The nearby summerleaze beach car park is ideal for the hotel and not too expensive £6.50 for 24 hours and easy to book when we arrived using the JustPark app (a service we'd used before elsewhere so were familiar with) The room was nice and clean and had a comfy bed, although my partner found it a bit too soft. The hotel had only been open less than a year when we visited and it is nice and modern, the self check in terminal was easy to use although a staff member checked us in using it so didn't necessarily save much time but I can see it being useful at busier times. The basic wifi in the room was reliable and coped well streaming YouTube and for general web browsing, although I struggled to use my 4g in the room. I have found this problem a lot in new build hotels so handy that the WiFi was good. The pub directly next door is a Pokemon GO gym if that wins any bonus points for people. We could reach it from the room. The breakfast was very good, we didn't book it when we placed our original booking, but it was no trouble going down to the restaurant in the morning and telling them which of the 2 breakfast options we wanted and paying with contactless so it was quick and easy. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but I would highly recommend 'the shack' just a few doors down from the hotel, away from the beach as their food was delicious and at a great price. There was no one else there when we went and we really felt that everyone else had...
Read moreEasily an affordable stay and great location to Summerleaze beach (5min walk). Where we stayed it was overlooking the canal, with the window open you could hear the traffic outside (but that's to be expected!) and didn't affect our stay. We had room service and it was lovely that towels were replenished with extras. Breakfast first day we were served at the table. Second day it was self-service for cooked breakfast, which surprised us and figured they were short on staff. Chef was great, food delicious, sadly cold beans on the first morning of our stay but felt too embarrassed to say anything. Couldn't fault anything else though. No parking on site which I'd read from reviews previously and so again not a shock and was to be expected. We intended on parking at Crescent Long Stay Car Park, but sadly no spaces as it's been reduced due to works there. We parked at Summerleaze Coastal Car Park using JustPark app which isn't far from the hotel. There's lifts to the different floors and despite being informed by reception it's a 60+ room hotel that has only 15 tables to dine at, it never felt busy or crowded. One thing to mention is that due to it's location next to the Inn you can find people hovering around drinking outside, which people might find uncomfortable. So depending in which direction you're entering the hotel just bear that in mind! Overall, it was a pleasant stay and can't fault the price we paid. We wanted to extend our stay but the cost to do so would've been double our original costs for more days. Would recommend for short periods but certainly not for a...
Read moreOn arrival (Mon 7/6/21) we were welcomed by the receptionist who appeared to be very busy.
She told us which room we were in and gave us 2 door/room cards, neither cards worked. Back down 3 floors to reception and I was given the "master card" which let us into the room. Overall the room was good, clean and tidy.
We had pre-booked breakfast for the Tuesday morning, wish we hadn't. They only had white bread (no wholemeal, seeded etc). No pancakes, limited fruit selection which didn't include Bananas.
Partner ordered 2 slices of toast which was partially toasted on one side and un-toasted on the other. I ordered 2 croissants with butter and jam. The croissants came within 30 seconds (sat next to the kitchen) but the butter and jam hadn't arrived after 7-8 minutes and had to get another member of staff to get me some.
The £8.99 for my partners breakfast was a waste of money (only toast and tea) due to items not available even though they were on the menu.
Tables were only wiped over with blue paper towel, no sanitizer spray.
I had a cooked breakfast which was good, the chef did a great job considering he was on his own in the kitchen.
Overall not a very good experience and certainly not worth the money we paid. We won't...
