Faulty Towers Lives Again! Today is our 3rd and last visit. First Visit I ordered a Cheeseburger which came with tasteless vegan cheese (I am Not vegan) and a coleslaw & burger sauce that tasted of fish. Awful. When I queried it I was told they are vegan. Why? You wouldn’t give everyone Gluten Free burger buns, why give me a meat eater a vegan substitute? My son had a GF Big Lounge Breakfast which was tepid at best with overcooked eggs. On the same trip my son ordered a GF Lounge Chocolate Brownie Sundae. They arrived with 2 desserts, a Brownie & a Sundae. 2nd visit we decided to skip main meal & just have a dessert. I ordered a milk shake that was just milk with over sweet syrup, no ice cream normal or vegan included. The place was nearly empty, staff sat at tables yet it took forever to arrive. 3rd visit. We were hoping 3rd time lucky but no! At the till I ordered an Americano, Diet Coke no ice or lemon and a GF fudge Sundae (thinking if I don’t mention the B word they couldn’t get it wrong). As he read my order back the Coke became Lemonade?? How? Then after loads of typing on the screen I asked him to check it was a GF Sundae he’d put on. He said yes. My coffee arrived with no Coke, I had to stop a waitress to get it. Then a waitress brought a spoon too big to fit in the bottom of a Sundae glass, when I asked her to change it I was told they didn’t have any but she’d check. Two minutes later she came back with the spoon followed by the guy who took the order. I told him you need to pay more attention to detail, it like Faulty Towers. Don’t get the reference? Check YouTube. He went on to say he put the order through incorrectly and he ordered a GF Brownie NOT a GF Brownie Sundae. Eventually the Sundae arrived, we were asked if we wanted the Brownie as well which the chef had already ‘prepared’, defrosted? Okay he refunded us, we did not want a refund, all we wanted was a smooth competent service with the correct order. PS. The table next to us, when they chased their order they were told you had lost it, just like you have...

Super fast service though characterised as efficient but lacking engagement or warmth.

We liked that we were met at the muster point and told to find a table then come to the bar to order. All very straight forward.

There were lots of unoccupied tables to choose from but we had a dog with us so we took a table in a corner so our dog did not disturb other patrons.

We just wanted a warm drink and a cake but the cakes on the bar all looked a bit sad so we went for toasted teacakes, accompanied by tea and a latte.

I went to the bar where I had been told to go to order where I was curtly told to go to the till to order!

The toasted teacakes arrive super fast, so fast that while they had a toasted coloured surface the rest was cold. A positive point being there was adequate butter [3 pats per portion]

In a pincer movement our coffee and tea arrived from a different direction moments later. The coffee was good and the tea was tea [it is hard to spoil tea] served in a small pot that gave two cups.

Reasonably priced food and beverage, staff clearing tables as people left and the premises felt clean. The whole concept did all feel a bit contrived and the staff gushing over vegan menu and allergy information was a bit woke and progressive for my taste but hey ho each to their own.

We would certainly go back when we were in Richmond but will be sure to miss the mother and toddler days that were advertised! That would be an utter nightmare for me. I can imagine the place full of 'earth mothers with...

Not my favourite place to eat , but my partner is gluten intolerant and is well catered for . I ordered the breakfast which on a whole is ok , I swapped the hash browns with my partner for her tomato. But I’m constantly disappointed with the wafer of black pudding. I once paid for extra and asked to just get one decent slice , but instead I was served 2 wafers of black pudding. Edited to add that despite the General manager requesting I contact to discuss this ( which I did ) I have had no response from them after a week.edited to add still no response after 4 weeks . Received an email from the GM after 4 weeks with an apology and an assurance that the portion of Black pudding I had received on several occasions was not company standard. Apparently it has been raised with the chef and from now on everyone will receive a proper slice of Black pudding. I was also given a £30 voucher so I might just see how much Black pudding I can get for that

So I received a voucher and the email I’ve added , along with a picture of today’s Black pudding ration . As you can see the portion is no different to any other time I’ve been there . I spoke to a former chef who worked at the lounge in Ripon and he confirmed that a wafer is not the company spec. So why do the Morro lounge continue to serve this...

This was our first visit to "Morro Lounge". First impressions were that it has been an impressive change of use. Formally a bank, the owners have carried out a first class conversion. The large open room is very welcoming. The staff were attentive and pleased to help. It was pleasing to be asked if we had any food allergies immediately on entry, then again when we ordered. We were shown to our table. There is a variety of seating arrangements readily available. From a formal 8 seater table down to sofa seating. It seems they have all bases covered. It was a bit cold for eating al fresco, however that is something to look forward to when the weather picks up. The outside eating area looks very enticing for a hot summers day. The menu is varied and offers a wide selection of tastes. We had a chicken Shawarma lounge flatbread and a lounge burger. Both were served in good time and both were extremely tasty. The meal was priced in a range similar to other outlets in the area. We will definitely be visiting again. Well done Morro Lounge.

Converted old HSBC bank located in the Market Square. Ate here on several occasions now and the food is usually top notch, until today. My wife ordered a Persian Lamb Flatbread. When it arrived it was quite obvious that the flatbread had been left under the grill far too long as it was rock hard. She even tried a steak knife, but was still unable to cut into it. Staff informed and the meal was replaced. Any chef worth his salt would never have allowed this to leave the kitchen. Also the person who plated it up must have been well aware that the flatbread was rock hard, but plated it up anyway. 20 minutes later a new meal for my wife arrived meaning that she ate it alone as I had finished my meal long before. Very poor and disappointing.
