It was a good meal overall, we both ordered some Chardonnay and it was amazing. For the main, I ordered half a lobster and my partner had monk fish. While the seafood was very fresh and is claimed to be local, we both agreed that its taste was majorly overpowered by an accompanying sauce. When my meal was served, the staff member said that the lobster that they got today was quite small and they would discount its price. I’d say that it had about a half of the half a lobster portion that I had in other places, which was mostly covered by mushrooms in a cheese sauce that was filling in the space. For the dessert, I ordered a crème brûlée and it was tasty but again, the top was quite burnt and too hard to be broken lightly by a spoon. In the end, the discounted price of half a lobster was £24.95 instead of £27.95 which to mind, was not an appropriate discount, considering the size of the meal. What a great meal! The fish was fresh, actually local and cooked to perfection. The chef knows what he’s doing and blends a delicious yet not overpowering set of flavours together to form some very tasty dishes. Recommend the scallops and the monkfish paired with the Gavi.

Food aside, the front of house service was impeccable - thank you.

Note, the place is small, I think I counted 26 covers, and cosy. Nice atmosphere and very central in Mevagissey. I’m usually quite happy with a pint of tribute and fish and chips from the pub, but I don’t regret trying this instead. Prices are very fair for what you get and would be 2x the price in London and the south...

Our family was incredibly impressed with our dining experience here. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such a warm welcome from the restaurant owner that immediately made us feel at home. The food was meticulously prepared with great attention to detail. Everything was served at the perfect temperature, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and high quality. The flavors were absolutely outstanding - so good that it makes us want to return to this charming little town just to experience the incredible cuisine here again.
