The Sharksfin restaurant is right on the harbour front in Mevagissey. It is nicely presented, clean and has outstanding views of the harbour itself, with window tables with the French doors drawn back. Dogs are allowed in this restaurant as long as they're on a lead and domesticated and trained. Guide dogs are always welcome here. The food is really good, maybe a little pricey to what some would expect, but worth it all the same. This is a popular eating place, as are the other restaurants too, as it can fill up quite quickly. However, that is NOT to put you off. As if you are prepared to wait for a table coming free. The staff will give you assistance and ask you to wait in a given area. Whereas then you would be advised when your table is available. There is a kiddies menu as well so they can be treated too. The staff here are very customer orientated and friendly, the whole place has a welcoming atmosphere, from the first smile when asking for a table, to the paying of your bill at the end of your stay. THAT smile is by far the best, as you're made more than welcome from the second you enter the Sharksfin restaurant. Most definitely worth visiting. Do try it. You won't be disappointed ladies and gents. A jpeg picture of the Sharksfin restaurant is included folks. Enjoy your visit. My wife and I certainly did.

We are down on holiday and The Sharksfin was recommended by a friend of my wife. Now it's our chance to recommend it to anyone and everyone!! Arrived here Saturday and had pre-booked Sunday lunch and boy, what a lunch it was! Didn't get pics but it was amazing and, freshly cooked - we had a chicken and a beef and, the beef just fell apart. Everything about this meal was more than perfect and, so much so, we booked again for lunch today. Another spectacular meal with me having fish & chips with onion rings and the wife had one of the specials, Pan Fried Hake in Samphire and Lobster cream sauce with crushed new potatoes and seasonal greens. Again, an amazing and well cooked meal and we hope to return one last time before we head home at the weekend. Simply put, amazing food with a service that was attentive, friendly and natural without being in any way obtrusive. Highly recommend for the perfect meal, service and, a great, ice-cold pint of Amstel!! Keep up the good work*****

Great service from friendly efficient staff, accommodating a young baby and pushchair, without a fuss, in a lovely airy restaurant. It was also dog friendly, another couple nearby were provided with a water bowl for their three dogs. We don't have dogs ourselves, but nice to see them treated as family. The slow cooked belly pork strips I had were absolutely lovely, large, succulent and so tender. The burger that my daughter had was massive and tasty and the fish and chips for my son in law, tasty with portion size more than adequate. well done the team. We're not tourists, myself living near the edge of Bodmin Moor, my daughter and family Torpoint, so we will be back! Please accept apologies for posting a photo that was not correct for your restaurant. However I'm old and not very tech savvy!but have hopefully managed to remove the picture. The rest of my review is one hundred percent accurate and I stand by all the compliments!

Bad service and okay food!! So as a party of 12 we were planning on spending a lot of money on our evening meal. We ordered at The bar our drinks, starters and main courses. The drinks came relatively quickly, however we ordered a bottle of wine which came a good 25 minutes later after asking one of the waitresses. We also asked for some water for the table, one of our party members said to the waitress to place everything at her end and we will hand it out, to make her job easier. This particular waitress ignored her. Our starters came soon after and everyone was very happy. The food was good, however again this one particular waitress was rude and had no customer service skills. With our main courses there was a mix up, we had ordered a children's fish cakes and instead we got cod and chips. When asked to.change a helpful waitress was happy to take it back. We again had to wait for a portion of cheesy chips and the right children's meal. As beginning to eat our food, one of the children had a very, very pink burger even compared to other people in our party who had ordered the same. The child was put off by the food and didn't want it replaced. Everyone was disappointed in their main meals. For it being a highly rated restaurant, I was very disappointed. Had better service and food in lower rated restaurants... I've paid less for a 5* fine dining restaurant and had better service, food...

We booked weeks in Advance for a Sunday lunch as we were having visitors come to stay.On arriving 20 mins early we asked if our table was ready or we would come back at the booked time. The chap was very nice and said we could have the table early only one problem we have no Sunday Lunch left.I was absolutely amazed living locally this was us giving this place a second chance after previously having an awful meal and given a voucher as compensation which incidentally we never used. They had even sent me an email that morning to ask if we were coming and we had confirmed.I only booked because people who live in the village said I shouldn't judge them on one incident. My visitors had travelled from Scotland and I was looking foreward to them having lunch on the harbour. We could have chosen off the menu but it is all fast food and not what I had booked, and at 2.45 on a Sunday afternoon you are not getting Sunday lunch anywhere locally during tourist season. To say I was disappointed would be mild I have been in catering myself including Sunday Lunch for large numbers surely a competent chef would insure he had enough covers for people who had specifically ordered Sunday lunch especially when they had booked a table...
