I love pierogi -- my grandmother made them from scratch, and I do my own when I have the time. Frozen ones fill a need, but it's not the same. So when I was in Chester, I had to stop into Pierogi. And what you will get are perfect pierogi, probably the best you'll get outside Poland (or your grandma's kitchen), served up with the trademark Polish humour, pride and hospitality. With a wide variety of available fillings, savoury and sweet, there's a dumpling for every taste. Due to time constraints, I bought the pierogi as-is and brought them home to pan-fry. They turned out beautifully -- the savoury (kapusta, ruskie and szpinak) went with kiełbasa, and the separately fried blueberry (it's basically a parcel of blueberry cheesecake!) was topped with a sprinkling of sugar and cinnamon. So: great food, wonderful service -- can't wait to get back to Chester and stick around for the...

While the food is not bad, the value for money is laughable. I paid £18.75 for a plate of ten dumplings, which included an extra fee of £1.50 for fried onion (good news: salt and pepper are FREE, yay!). There are extra fees for sour cream, and fat. Oh well.
At a similar establishment, American Pizza Slice in Bridge Street (the very city centre), I'd pay less than £12 for four pizza slices. In Park Gate (Neston) Old Quay pub, I had a delicious 12" pepperoni pizza AND a pint for just £10.50.
At a very good Polish restaurant in Liverpool, you pay £8-9 for a plate of delicious pierogi.
Summing up - the decor is OK-ish, the food and service OK, but nothing more. The prices are RIDICULOUS, though. Good place to go if you have...
Read moreOh! Wow! Never had Polish dumplings before, but will definitely visit here again when next in Chester. We came on Friday 18th February at lunchtime. The place is quite small, I think you could only get 10 people in at once, but having said that not sure if they have an upstairs. The staff were so friendly and helpful and they made you feel very comfortable. We had the mixed tray of 10 dumplings, they had different fillings. Every one was really good. You could have had a choice of toppings and there were of two soups on the menu. We just had the plain dumplings, but next time will try the soup and the toppings. A...
