After eating at Sawadee, this restaurant has made it onto a list my friends special list of places to get really terpy food. I have a bunch of allergies so finding somewhere appropriate is often hard on short notice but we were in Kemptown and the munchies had kicked in from a really nice joint we smoked on the beach. The menu looked positively good so we struggled to make a choice but we ended up with shredded duck and pancakes,.a massaman and pad Thai. Nothing disappointed, it was all on point with a beautiful balance of flavours and generous but not overwhelming portions. The amount of duck served was surprisingly good and was cooked to perfection with the crispy skin...yum. Looking forward to getting back in there to try out the jungle curry when I'm feeling up for the spice challenge!

The food was really tasty, like less fake tasting than many other places. The guy who I presume was the manager was delightful and the girl serving was so polite and beautiful. Both such beautiful people. We were the second to last people in there just past 10pm so they were clearly tired. A lady came out of the back with her coat and bag, who I presume was the chef, and went home, and even she was smiling at us in a really friendly way on her way out. I really like the decor as well. I'm not from the area so it was my first time here but my friend loves it. I just wish we carried cash on us to leave a tip!! I felt awful, especially as he gave us free jasmin tea at the end. Really appreciated

Great ambiance. Excellent service. Amazing food!!!! Must try: 1. Fish cakes (if you have been to Thailand have a bite and you're transported right back) 2. Dumplings (siomaaiii love indeed! Filipinos can relate) 3. Broccoli with spicy nut sauce (sorry not sure about the name but the taste I will definitely remember! Perfectly cooked paired with that flavorful sauce) 4. Beef with veggies in spicy sauce (refreshing to the palate) 5. Sea bass in garlic chilli sauce (yes please!!!! Fave ❤️ last but definitely n0t the least) Share the entire experience with a good company and that right there is living life! 😉

We have tried two Thai places in Kemptown. Kemp Thai which was particularly awful but top rated and Suriyas. Which was disappointing with cheap ingredients for dishes. So was wary. Thankfully best Thai I have had so far in Brighton. We both got the duck massaman. A very good portion of duck and a lot of vegetable’s. Most importantly the sauce was well made and balanced. Clinging to the duck and coating everything. One thing though. We had some really strange music in there. Which was off putting during lunch. For the food. Mucho recommended.

Great restaurant. The service was helpful, friendly and unobtrusive; the decor is lovely and most importantly the food is really good. The lunchtime deal of two courses for £10.95 is great value and there are quite a few options to choose from. The salt and pepper squid was delicious--even the little carrot salad on the side and the fried garlic garnishes were great. Pad Thai chicken had really good chunks of tender chicken and was cooked perfectly. Definitely returning.

The Green Curry Chicken at Sawadee Thai is a delightful blend of tender chicken, vibrant veggies, and aromatic herbs paste of green curry in a creamy coconut milk broth. Each bite offers a burst of Thai flavors, from the curry paste's heat to the refreshing notes of Thai’s herbs. It's a must-try dish that transports you to Thailand with every bite!
