Just wanted to share our experience at this 'restaurant' on Saturday night. It was an absolute farce from start to finish. We had to wait an hour just to get drinks or poppadum's. Every excuse was used as to why there was a delay! We typed out our large order so the staff could write it out with ease. Parts of the order came about 40 mins later and the rest came in drips and drabs! They even got two of the dishes wrong even though they wrote them down from the phone! Obviously this ruined most of the meal. Again plenty of excuses were on offer. The food was disgusting, very bland and cold. The staff were rude throughout. As this was a celebration meal we did not want to cause trouble or raise our voices as children were present. We finished what we could and the rest of the family left while a few of us sorted out the bill. There was no way we wanted to pay anything at all but tried to be reasonable. The bill was nearly £200 and after agreeing this was a mess from their side they said we could pay £150. We just offered £100 but after having them bring out the chef who wanted more money but agreed it was their fault again we agreed on £110! This was our first visit and definitely our last. The toilets were filthy, staff were rude, food cold and bland and this was only 50% of...
Read moreRestaurant - Located in the heart of Brighton, the bustling rainbow adorned quarters of Kemptown. Pavel, a South Asian restaurant awarded for the - Finest Indian Cuisine on the South Coast. This restaurant lives up to their accolade, and my dining experiences send me reminders of my South Asian heritage.
Staff - The Restauranter welcomed my family and I with a smile and a polite greet, the staff were hospitable and attentive. Being a loyal customer to Pavel over the years, I have built a good relationship with the staff, so banter is always on the menu.
Food & Beverage - We were presented with starters, that was free of charge. A Tandoori Chicken Tikka dish, off the bone, and a Tandoori King Prawn dish, served with salad. I ordered a Butter Chicken for my main dish, cooked with a blend of spicy yogurt sauce, cream and nuts, with Basmati rice on the side and a glass of Coca-Cola. It had a creamy rich texture and was a flavoursome dish.
Overall, my family and I had a wonderful time at the restaurant. The staff were friendly, the establishment was clean, the environment was calm with the iconic Lata Mangeshkar playing in the background. We enjoyed our meals and it was a nice beginning to the start of our family night.
