HORRIBLE - I must have had a stand in chef? A BURNT (not well done - burnt) burger hidden in sloppy sauce; half cooked oily fries; cheese sticks deep fried in cold oil. AVOID. From reviews I had good expectations & service was good - cute American diner 'vibe' but he food was terrible & eating out is all about the food. Also : how do you offer bottled beer but no ciders; milk shakes but not strawberry. Clearly, from other 4.9 reviews, I went on the wrong night and wont be going back. Post rather snotty reply from 'Clydees; you dont take critique well do you. Your accusation that I have not attended your burger cart are rude and wrong. "Customers read the menu first" - yes but also some customers got o restaurants at the strong suggestion by others in the party and they do not like to make a fuss. The food was BURNT (I did not comment on the claggy cold pasta with lumpy chicken sauce a friend had). Yes limited menus are fine - I simply commented your choices could be better. I did point out I probably got the replacement chef; I also pointed out the service was good. But does it occur to you, listening is a good thing. I suspect you were the offending non-chef? My review was an honest view from someone who had a bad meal - calm yourself. Your are in a tight market with tight budgets - stop being a touchy prima donna who claims anything negative "is not legitimate" ...and don't burn...
Read moreWe working in Brighton from London atm and so popped in here one morning for coffee as it was open earlier than the place we had been going to, closer to our work place, wasn’t open yet. The first thing that struck was the friendly warm atmosphere. The barista seemed to know everyone and what they ordered. Our coffee was lovely and well priced and he also explained to us that a flat white is of a certain size. We knew this and I was pleased because I always find it disheartening when I order a flat white, which should be a particular coffee to water to milk ratio. Amazing how many coffee places don’t seem to know this! After such a good service we soon came back for lunch (as pictured) and found it to be delicious, quick and reasonable. This is the lady bagel I think...bacon, cheese, tomato, mushroom on a bagel. This was my husband’s order. I had a black sheep bagel I think which was bacon, avocado, tomato and spinach. Both plates dressed with olive oil and oregano. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back- the other things on the menu sounded so great. We haven’t seen smoked salmon or croque monsieurs for example which Clyde had on his menu! So yep all in all a five star experience and we look forward to...
Read moreCame in for a meal while on holiday here in brighton as reviews looked good and was at the end of the road we were staying on.
Safe to say not a worth while experience we were ignored when first entered but after prompting the staff asking if they were serving food we were told to just sit anywhere.
Only interactions with staff were when we ordered and when we paid. No question as to how the food was or if we wanted any extra drinks.
Chef was not there i believe and a barmaid or waitress was standing in due to the lack of taste and general presentation to the food. My burger was an overcooked patty covered with sweet chilli sauce and mayonnaise to cover up the fact it wasn’t cooked properly.
Only positive i found was the music they played wasn’t half bad. Highly recommend the local pizza shop next door, chef was very friendly and gave us a handful of places to go while...
