A restaurant I must have passed many, many times. A place I have wanted to visit since it was established back in 2013. Tonight we made it happen and ‘Seven’ did not disappoint. A great location with ample parking. We happened to visit during a football fixture therefore it was initially quite busy, but then settled down once the football fans had left. We received a warm welcome, we didn’t need to wait long for our table to be ready either. The menu is limited and simple which is great, it doesn’t leave you lost as to what you should choose. A fantastic selection of starters/appetites, mains, dessert and drinks all very reasonably priced too. The portion sizes are generous and well worth the value for money. (We spent an average of £40 pp). The vibe/ambiance in ‘Seven’ is quite up-beat, but still gives you opportunity to be able to converse with your friends/family. A perfect location for a date night, family meal, friends night out or even a stag/hen do. It’s close to the city centre too, where you can head to after your meal. ‘Seven’ have established an exceptional restaurant, surviving COViD, demonstrating very well why it’s a place not only for all, but why many also continuously return. David was our waiter for tonight. He was excellent. Very warm, accommodating, friendly and professional. A definite 5 🌟 and definitely a place I’d revisit and also recommend too. Thank you for the ‘Seven’ experience. 💫

Breakfast review Plenty of natural lighting, provided the weather is decent. Fresh ingredients and tastes quite well, however it does have quite a few things to improve on before I would justify the price. Some of the dishes just didn't quite hit the mark. The pancakes lacked the fluffy and light texture as you would expect from pancakes. Perhaps this was done intentionally so that they don't break apart when they soak up the moisture from the berries and syrup. Nonetheless they felt quite dense and didn't satisfy my expectations. The Eggs Copenhagen was well prepared and the Hollandaise sauce was delicious. Out of the two poached eggs one was poached correctly and the other was cooked through. A disappointing second half to my dish to say the least. Service was quite relaxed and slow. Servers would ask if you needed anything as they brought you the food which is fine, however after that servers didn't care to ask if the food was of satisfaction. Paying the bill also required some time. 10 minutes for them to notice we had finished and after they had already taken our plates, to receive the bill. Another 10 minutes waiting to settle the bill. Overall considering the service and the quality of the finished product against the price you are paying for the meal, I doubt I would be so eager to come for breakfast again.

Booked at last minute and luckily had a table for 3 of us. Waiting time to order was a little stressful as been waiting for 20mins ordered drinks and foods since it was so busy. Waitress in green hair was very nice and had pleasant smile. We ordered artisan home baked bread, two turkey dishes, fried halloumi cheese and toddler tomato bolognese pasta. Foods came around 15mins of wait, turkey dishes were alright not excited us, missing stuffing and no yorkshire pudding and pety turnips. If we knew theres a xmas set meal, we will order it maybe next time. Sourdough breads were beautiful with sea salt flakes and butter. Halloumi sticks were not impressed, lost soul due to hard and cold (overcook). Ilm sure you'll agree with me Halloumi stick is best to eat crispy outside and soft gooey inside, chef maybe can consider to improve that? Toddler meal was missing but came in 15mins later and waitress apologised for it. Puddings, we had sticky toffee pud with icecream and creme brulee, although no cutlery to dig in as they were far too busy.Honestly, desserts were more beautifully done than main dishes. Ended up with a bill c.70 which not bad but could be better! Thank you for your service, we will be returned for sure.

discretionary | dis·cre·tion·ary definition: left to individual choice or judgment : exercised at one's own discretion

This should be emphasised at your next staff meeting.

We came a few days ago and placed our order, 45m-1hr until our food arrives after asking for a while. Drinks took their time too.

When it came to paying the bill, we decided to take the discretionary service charge off as we thought that we didn't have the usual decent service and took ages to get the food.

We went back to our table to get money and when we returned back to the till, we can see the waitress having a meltdown and showing anger towards something (which we didn't realise was us), it is only when one of her colleagues said "shh they're behind you", did I realise that we had severely upset the waitress by removing the service charge. However a discretionary service charge should not be expected, so the waitress shouldn't get upset.

Furthermore, we gave the waitress £20 too much and noticed it when she was counting it. After saying "Sorry did I give you too much" she shoved the £20 notes back into my direction, without looking and gave us major attitude for the next few minutes we were there. She even came back to the table and angrily put 45p change on to the table and walked off.

The manager was nothing but nice throughout, just wish she was the one waiting on our table.

I've been to Seven many times over the last few years, but this was definetly my last time.

Sincerest apologies to the waitress to whom got overly upset regarding removing a service charge and for me being a major nuisance to her day by asking for £20 note that we had accidentally given to her, back. Please don't let this upset you further.

Food was good but service, just at the end, let the entire thing down. 2-stars is only for the manager and because the food was nice....

This was our first time at Severn, it was a great first experience. Will be returning.

Atmosphere/Building/Decor: The inside of restaurant/bar was decorated impeccably. Very modern and tasteful and an enjoyable space to dine in. Smart, casual and classy vibes.

Food: We went on a Sunday, which had the option of a Sunday roast or other options if you don’t fancy a roast dinner. All food looked really well presented. I had the crispy beef salad, which was one of the best salads I have ever eaten, moreover some of the nicest food I’ve ever eaten. There were lots of options on the menu, lots I would like to try. Plenty of veggie options and vegan options also. The dessert menu is fantastic, I had trouble choosing one as I wanted them all. I had the pistachio and almond torte, which was as described- the dessert was quite large though and I would have been happy with half the portion I received. Not a complaint, more of a suggestion. Great side dish options also. Next time I visit, I’m trying some of the starters they had, which were varied and would be something on there that most people would like.

Drinks: lots of drink selection available. The cocktail menu is small, but has the classics on. Great selection of wines, beers and soft drinks also.

Price: reasonably priced considering the standard of food, definitely worth the money. 3 drinks (inc alcohol), 2 mains and 1 dessert cost us roughly £55.

Service: shout out to the lady who served us. Well presented and polite (I think her name was Tabitha). Other severs were really welcoming and friendly also. Attentive service, but not overbearing. All in all great service. Speed of service was...

Unfortunately my visit was not that pleasant. Me and my colleagues planned to have work lunch therefore booked the table and meals a month in advance. When we got there we were sat at the table but then waited very long time for out starters to come. After we finished the starters, we needed to wait for our mains. When our mains came we found out that the menu has been changed and they no longer serve one of the dishes. Instead of informing us about it in advance and asking if we are ok with it, they just brought out the new option. Unfortunately I could not have it as it was spicy and I don't tolerate spices. I sent it back and was happy to hear that I am able to choose something else from the menu, however, I was told to choose something that is cooked quickly. Before ordering I needed to ask which dishes are cooked quickly as I don't know how long it takes to cook them. After we finished our mains we were disappointed to find out that it will take another 15 minutes for our deserts to be served. Needles to say at that time we were there for about 2 h and could see that quite few people who came in when we were sat down had already finished their meals. We cancelled our order for deserts as we needed to return back to work. Very disappointed for all service. I would assume that the pre-order table with meals would be much better organized. We got excuse that it's very busy and that is the reason for delays, however, that does not explain why pre booked table gets served after people who have come in from the street. Don't think we will be using this place again...
