Shensha Balti — Restaurant in England

Wish I had read the older reviews before booking this place for a birthday meal. The senior waiter was very rude and cocky. Tried to accuse me of only booking for 4 when in fact I had the email to prove it was 5 and then he didn’t even want to see and made it look like an inconvenience even though the restaurant wasn’t even busy and tried to make me feel like I made a mistake. There was no apology. We hadn’t even sat down or looked at the menu before he asked us what drinks we wanted. Drinks arrived flat and we had to take them back for them to insult our intelligence and told us they had opened a new bottle when we were sitting opposite the drinks area and saw them using half full bottles to pour the drinks. Again the arrogant waiter made it look like we were an inconvenience telling us we can have something else when in fact they had given a flat drink with no fizz at all. Water was basically a bottle of water from a case you get in Iceland. They seem to have their favourite regular customers who they greet and take care of but if you are new they don’t treat you well. Arrogant senior waiter slammed down the drinks. I have never been to an Indian restaurant where they don’t even offer you poppadoms! However, the people who came after us were offered them? Never in my life have I had to walk out of a restaurant until I came here, extremely bad attitude from what seemed to be a senior waiter, went with my family of all ages even my nan, went for a birthday meal was snapped at and told to sit anywhere bad attitudes from staff from the get go, they knew we was there to celebrate got there at 7.30 pre booked of course and received 1 popadom between 6 people at 9.05 pm, 9.05pm ! And it waa NOT busy, staff reluctant to describe menus and made us feel like a nuisance. Not the way to treat paying customers. Senior waiter was extremely rude to the women in the group I have no idea why so we left without our mains, starving and they still tried to make us pay for the entire order told us they would wrap it up and take it home?! Birthday celebration ruined not even an apology. Honestly can say we will never be returning again. Avoid like the plague, the food is cheap to produce overcharged and no excuse for bad attitudes. Been to many Indians and they wouldn't dream of putting down 1 single popadom even between 2 people. Wasted evening yesterday I'd give 0 if I could....

Nothing winds me up more when they tell you a delivery time and it come a lot more later than expected. Be honest, say its going to be 2 and half hours long then I would of had options to order else where. Dishonest and clearly just money grabbing.

I am aware things run overtime but when it 1 and half hours over ran then you knew this 1 hour into service so a call should of been courtesy to again give me a choice as to whether I waited for the takeaway.

UPDATED. THE FOOD NEVER EVEN ARRIVED ORDERED AT 6.15PM AND 39 CALLS TO THE RESTAURANT AND NOT ONE CALLED ANSWERED. APPARENTLY THEY WERE SO.BUSY ACCORDING TO ANOTHER ANNOYED CUSTOMER THEY UNPLUGGED THEIR PHONE AND TURNT OFF THEIR JUST EAT APP. REGARDLESS HOW BUSY YOU ARE THIS IS NOT HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS THE CHINA BRASSIER IN FAIRFORDLEYS POSTED ON SOICAL MEDIA THEY ARE SO BUSY AND WOULD SUGGEST GOING ELSEWHERE.
